UPDATE: This afternoon, Fox announced that O’Reilly will not be back and that Tucker Carlson will be taking his place in the 8:00 Eastern time slot.
The career of Fox News personality and host of the ‘O’Reilly Factor’, Bill O’Reilly, looks to be increasingly in doubt. This statement, of course, is set in the context of ‘facts’ being put out by the main stream media. We all know how reliable and objective they can be.
Be that as it may, liberal Big Apple gossip rag New York magazine is eagerly reporting that O’Reilly, beset by sexual harassment lawsuits, is currently in a situation that “looks increasingly unlikely that he’ll ever return to his show.”
The Murdoch family, which owns Fox, is reportedly in talks about ending O’Reilly’s tenure at Fox, all because of noisy activists.
The campaign against O’Reilly kicked off when the New York Slimes, er, Times published a story that five women were paid off by O’Reilly to not sue him. Since then, other women have come forward with unsubstantiated claims used to whip up crowds of activists demanding O’Reilly’s head.
Marc E. Kasowitz, the lead attorney for O’Reilly, has come out swinging against his client’s accusers.
“It is outrageous that an allegation from an anonymous person about something that purportedly happened almost a decade ago is being treated as fact, especially where there is obviously an orchestrated campaign by activists and lawyers to destroy Mr. O’Reilly and enrich themselves through publicity driven donations.”
The activists that Kasowitz is referring to include liberal news spinster Media Matters (a long time target of O’Reilly) and Democrat financier Mary Pat Bonner, who has bankrolled much of the Clinton Foundation.
