Donald Trump is currently in the process of trying to figure out his cabinet, and one of the names he is considering for White House press secretary has everyone talking.
Conservative Tribune reported that Trump is thinking about naming Fox News host Monica Crowley as his press secretary partly due to the months she spent passionately defending him.
“The longtime Trump believer, who describes herself as a ‘happy warrior’ in her Twitter bio, was an early advocate for Trump,” Politico reported. “Back when he announced his seemingly quixotic presidential bid in June 2015, Crowley warned on Fox News not to underestimate the real estate mogul.”
Crowley also repeatedly attacked Hillary Clinton, specifically for her hypocrisy about women’s rights.
Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham was originally being considered for the position, but she reportedly asked for “a bigger title” and a “role in policymaking.” Her unending attacks on “Never-Trump Republicans” has also lowered Ingraham’s chances of being chosen over Crowley.
“Both women were loyal supporters of Trump from the very beginning of his campaign, but Ingraham managed to get on the wrong side of many conservatives while Crowley did not,” PJ Media writer Debra Heine wrote last week. “Because she never attacked the ‘Never Trumpers’ the way Ingraham did, Crowley would be a less divisive choice.”
In addition, Crowley hasn’t made any demands about the job, instead saying she simply wants to serve Trump in any way she can.
“It would be an honor to serve in the new administration,” she said, according to the New York Post.
