Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney spent the entire presidential election repeatedly attacking Donald Trump. That’s why it came as a massive surprise today when it was revealed that Trump will be meeting with Romney to discuss the possibility of making him his Secretary of State.
CNBC reported that Romney spoke out this past March to call Trump “a phony” and “a fraud.” Trump fired back by calling Romney a loser, adding that the former Massachusetts Governor begged for his endorsement in 2012 and “would’ve dropped to his knees” for it. He also said that Romney “choked like a dog” during his 2012 presidential campaign against Barack Obama.
Last week, however, Romney extended an olive branch by calling Trump to congratulate him on his win.
Trump is also reportedly considering former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who also repeatedly attacked him, for the Secretary of State position.
