Hours after Donald Trump shocked liberals by beating Hillary Clinton in the presidential election, Barack Obama is desperately trying to kiss up to the new president in the hopes that he won’t destroy his many initiatives such as Obamacare. That’s why it came as devastating news to Obama when a clip resurfaced of him assassinating Trump’s character during a “60 Minutes” interview filmed just over a year ago.
“He’s tapped into something that exists in the Republican Party that’s real,” Obama said of Trump during the October 2015 interview, according to The Blaze. “I think there is genuine anti-immigrant sentiment in the large portion of at least Republican primary voters. I don’t think it’s uniform. He knows how to get attention. He’s the classic reality TV character.”
When asked if Trump had a chance of winning the election, a cocky Obama responded, “I don’t think he’ll end up being president of the United States.”
Obama made a similar comment before his final State of the Union address in January when Matt Lauer asked if he can “imagine Donald Trump standing up one day and delivering a State of the Union address?”
“Well, I can imagine it in a ‘Saturday Night [Live]’ skit,” Obama responded as he laughed, making it clear he did not take Trump seriously.
Sorry, Barry, but you should have taken Trump seriously a whole lot sooner! Have fun packing your bags and moving OUT of the White House!
