A Muslim “refugee” told an Italian court this week that he was “joking” when he wrote on Facebook that he wanted to carry out a terrorist attack. The judge, however, wasn’t having any of it.
Mad World News reported that Marouan Mathlouthi, 26, was deported out of Italy back to his native Tunisia last Thursday even though he has lived in the European nation since he was a baby. The Italian ministry said this came after Mathlouthi befriended another Tunisian man who was arrested in 2015 on terrorism-related charges because he was planning to flee to Syria or Iraq to join ISIS.
According to Breitbart, Mathlouthi got himself in trouble when he wrote on Facebook, “I don’t know if I should be good or stage a massacre, I have to think about it.” He had jihadist propaganda on him when he was arrested by the authorities.
This comes as Italy continues their efforts to oust Muslim extremists that threaten their state security. Italy is also preparing to overhaul its expulsion program for the thousands of migrants who simply fail to win asylum each year.
Interior Minister Marco Minniti is trying to get his country’s parliament to approve the creation of smaller, regional detention centers to hold migrants undergoing the bureaucratic process of being sent home. The detention centers in Italy are currently overcrowded and have been the subject of protests from migrants over the poor conditions there.
Meanwhile, Italy has complained that the European Union is not helping them enforce Muslim expulsions.
