Liberalism is all about perception and not substance. A political ideology that runs on the fleeting populist fads of the moment can only do so if it is unmoored from any and all moral underpinnings.
Exhibit A, Breitbart provides, is the tweeted picture and accompanying caption of Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren standing before the ‘Fearless Girl’ statue in Manhattan.
“Fight like a girl” is a phrase first used by former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin in 2008. The media ridiculed Palin for using the phrase, dismissing her ‘feminist’ credentials and her call for female empowerment.
When Warren used the phrase with her Twitter picture, Palin delivered a great reply that deserves to be quoted in full:
“I don’t know. Coming from liberals who urge women to claim victimization, ‘Fight like a girl’ just doesn’t sound the same as when legit fighters for equality say it, mean it, live it, and will never give it up.”
To Leftists like Warren, the truth of their actions doesn’t matter. It is all about appearances and patronizing propaganda.
Breitbart also notes a delicious piece of irony.
“While supporters of the “Fearless Girl” see it as a symbol of feminist resistance to the greed of institutional finance, they might be surprised to learn the little statue was bankrolled by multinational finance giant State Street Global Advisors, the world’s third largest asset manager with over $2.4 trillion.”
Senator Warren, please put your Dunce cap back on.
