Melania Trump broke her silence today by giving her first speech in months. Now, surprising footage has emerged that shows that if Donald Trump wins on Tuesday, it won’t be Melania’s first time in the White House.
New York Daily News reported that Melania appeared in a 1993 Slovenian fashion ad as the president of the United States. Then a 23-year-old model named Melanija Knavs, she appeared in the low-budget ad for a Slovenian fashion line. She can be seen getting off a plane, talking to reporters, and being escorted by the Secret Service before getting sworn in as the first female president of the U.S.
The description of the ad stated that it was intended to depict “the first woman president of the United States on the day of her inauguration.”
“It is the most extraordinary historical coincidence, she looked refined, elegant, really presidential,” said Jožica Brodaric, the ad’s scriptwriter.
In another “extraordinary coincidence,” Melania is seen signing off on immigration documents in the decades-old ad. After she’s sworn in, she can be seen in an office taking calls and putting on eyeglasses with a pearl neck chain to examine the official documents.
“In the document, she is approving three people to cross the border between two countries, it’s an immigration document,” said Natalija Gorscak, director of Slovenian National Television.
Melania emigrated to the United States three years later, and met her future husband at a fashion party in 1998 before marrying him in 2005.
