Liberals everywhere are panicking after Donald Trump suggested he would overturn Roe v. Wade during an interview with 60 Minutes that aired on Sunday night.
Vox reported that Trump said he would appoint “pro-life” judges to the Supreme Court and that if Roe v. Wade were overturned, women would “have to go to another state” if they want an abortion.
“If [Roe v. Wade] ever were overturned, it would go back to the states,” Trump said.
“But then some women won’t be able to get an abortion?” interviewer Leslie Stahl responded.
“Yeah, well, they’ll perhaps have to go — they’ll have to go to another state,” Trump said.
“Well, we’ll see what happens,” Trump said. “It’s got a long way to go.”
Trump has made it clear in the past that he believes appointing “pro-life” judges will “automatically” result in Roe v. Wade being overturned at some point. Roe v. Wade has been a precedent for 43 years, but under Trump’s presidency, it may not be around much longer.
