Barack Obama has been having one of the worst weeks of his life after Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton in the presidential election.
Knowing that his entire legacy as president is about to be destroyed, Obama tried to do some damage control today by actually making an effort to make it look like he cares about veterans for once.
Throughout his presidency, Obama has disrespected veterans every chance he gets. That’s why it came as a surprise today when Obama led proceedings at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia after holding a private breakfast at the White House for veterans and their families.
Daily Mail reported that Obama thanked our nation’s veterans during his final address as president, telling Americans to turn to them in times of cynicism.
“Whenever the world makes you cynical. Look to a veteran,” Obama said in his 13 minute speech. “Veteran’s Day follows a hard fought political campaign, an expression in the free speech and government that you fought for.”
“It often lays bare the disagreements across our nation. The American instinct has never been to find isolation in opposite corners. It is to find strength in our common creed,” he continued. “Whenever the world makes you cynical, look to a veteran. Whenever you doubt that courage and goodness and selflessness is possible, stop and look to a veteran.”
Nice try, Obama, but one day does not erase all the awful things you have done to veterans throughout your presidency. SHARE this story if you can’t WAIT for Obama to leave the White House!
