As much as the media wants to downplay a drug that is in existence that has shown promising results against coronavirus the truth cannot be hidden.
An anti-malaria drug named chloroquine, or hydroxychloroquine, has shown fantastic results in combating the COVID-19 virus.
“A peer-reviewed study shows that 100% of patients, after 6 days of taking a Malaria drug were ‘virologically’ cured
“This is, reportedly, the 2nd 100% cure to a virus that has ever existed,” Charlie Kirk, a friend of the president, said on Twitter.
“Researchers and virologists in France have completed a clinical trial studying the effects of hydroxychloroquine, used to treat arthritis, malaria, and other ailments, on patients with COVID-19. Researchers treated a total of 26 coronavirus patients with the drug, including six that were given the antibiotic azithromycin, as well,” The Washington Examiner said of the research.
“Despite its small sample size our survey shows that hydroxychloroquine treatment is significantly associated with viral load reduction/disappearance in COVID-19 patients and its effect is reinforced by azithromycin,” according to the study.
“If clinical data confirm the biological results, the novel coronavirus-associated disease will have become one of the simplest and cheapest to treat and prevent among infectious respiratory diseases,” it said.
Stanford University School of Medicine SPARK Translational Research Program advisor Gregory Rigano appeared on the Fox News show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to tout the results.
He said it is the second 100 percent cure for a virus that has ever been found and urged President Trump to “authorize the use of hydroxychloroquine against coronavirus immediately.”
Carlson, for his part, remain skeptical that this drug, or any drug, can produce a 100 percent cure rate.
“I only know what you’re telling me, but I do know that it’s very unusual for a study of anything to produce results of 100 percent. I mean, that’s remarkable, isn’t it or am I missing something?” the host said.
President Donald Trump also championed the drugs on Twitter on Saturday, after singing its praises in previous press briefings.
“HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game changers in the history of medicine.
“The FDA has moved mountains – Thank You! Hopefully they will BOTH (H works better with A, International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents) be put in use IMMEDIATELY. PEOPLE ARE DYING, MOVE FAST, and GOD BLESS EVERYONE!” he said.
Dr. Anthony Fauci and other doctors have been more skeptical of the results, but the drugs have now begun being tested in the United States.
“All we have is some preclinical rationale and some mechanistic rationale, but no hard randomized clinical data yet,” Raymond James biotech analyst Steven Seedhouse, said. “I think it’s appropriate to be cautious on chloroquine and anything else.”
