After Pelosi Names Impeachment Managers, Trump’s Response Sends Shockwaves

House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi announced her impeachment managers for the Senate trial of President Donald Trump.

It was a cave to the president and Senate Majority Leader and Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell who did not bow to her demands of getting the Senate rules before she would send the Articles of Impeachment.

And President trump took to Twitter to do a victory dance and to excoriate the House Speaker and Democrats.

“Here we go again, another Con Job by the Do Nothing Democrats. All of this work was supposed to be done by the House, not the Senate!” he said.

“This is about the Constitution of the United States,” Speaker Pelosi said as she was joined by Reps. Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler on Wednesday.

California Rep. Schiff and New York Rep. Nadler will be on the team of managers and they will be joined by five other Democrats.

They are joined by House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y.; Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo.; Val Demings, D-Fla.; Sylvia Garcia, D-Texas; and Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif, Fox News reported.

“Today, I have the privilege of naming the Managers of the impeachment trial of the President. #DefendOurDemocracy,” she said on Twitter.

If she wants to defend democracy then she should stop attempting to change the 2016 election where President Trump was democratically elected,

“The Speaker lied when she claimed this was urgent and vital to national security because when the articles passed, she held them for an entire month in an egregious effort to garner political support,” White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.

“She failed and the naming of these managers does not change a single thing. President Trump has done nothing wrong. He looks forward to having the due process rights in the Senate that Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats denied to him, and expects to be fully exonerated,” she added.

The House will formally vote to send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate on Wednesday afternoon, the Speaker said.

“When people are serious about compiling evidence and proving a case, these things take time. That’s not what happened this time,” Sen. Mitch McConnell said.

“This isn’t really about Ukraine policy or military assistance money. It can’t be because for one thing, prominent Democrats were promising to impeach President Trump years before,” he said.

He nailed it. It is about destroying democracy. It is about telling the citizens that their votes do not matter, and that the elite are supposed to select the president.

And mainly, it is about being furious that President Trump defeated them in 2016 and is likely going to do it again in 2020.
