President Donald Trump has called Antifa a terrorist organization and blamed them for starting the riots that followed the George Floyd altercation with police that led to his death in Minneapolis.
Democrats and the mainstream media have dismissed the president’s claims even as ample evidence suggested that he was correct.
And now more evidence has come to show the president’s accusations were spot on as arrests of Antifa members have been made.
The Texas district attorney has just announced the arrest of three members of the radical group for their role in looting local Target stores, The Washington Examiner reported.
The three people — identified as Lisa Hogan, 27, Samuel Miller, 22, and Skye Elder, 23 — were among a group of about 20 people who broke into the building, stole items, and damaged property on May 31.
Hogan was charged with riot and burglary of a building, Miller was charged with criminal mischief and burglary of a building, and Elder was charged for burglary of a building. Bond was set at $25,000 per charge for each person.
Members of the Austin Police Department Special Response Team arrived shortly after the break-in and apprehended the trio. The property damage and merchandise stolen has been valued at over $20,000.
“While I fully support the rights of freedom of speech and assembly, I cannot tolerate the subversion of peaceful protest by engaging in wanton destruction and theft,” District Attorney Margaret Moore said.
“These arrests are important to protecting not only the property owners, but, even more importantly, the peaceful protesters whose message should be heard,” she said.
The press release said that the investigation is ongoing and involves the Austin Police Department, the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, and even the FBI.
“The violence, threat to life, and destruction of property we have seen in Austin and other parts of the country, jeopardizes the rights and safety of all citizens, including peaceful demonstrators,” Moore said.
After the protests and riots began following the death of Floyd Attorney General William Barr said that “many places” had seen riots caused by “anarchic” and “far-left extremist groups.”
“The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly,” he said, Fox News Los Angeles reported.
“It is the responsibility of state and local leaders to ensure that adequate law enforcement resources, including the National Guard where necessary, are deployed on the streets to reestablish law and order. We saw this finally happen in Minneapolis last night, and it worked,” he said.
Barr’s statement followed the president’s tweet in which he called the radical left wing Antifa group domestic terrorists.
“The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization,” he said.
It appears the president has been proven correct again and it is a matter of time before Antifa strikes again unless Democrats stop protecting them.
