Firebrand Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced Articles of Impeachment against President Joe Biden.

She made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday where she said, as Democrats did when they introduced Articles of Impeachment against former President Donald Trump, that she did so with “solemnity.”

“It is with the highest amount of solemnity that I announce my intention to introduce articles of impeachment today on the head of this America-last executive branch, that has been working since Jan. 20, 2021, to systematically destroy this country, the president of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden,” she said.

This story is still developing, but these are not the only Articles of Impeachment filed by Rep. Greene this week.

Greene took many by surprise on Tuesday when she introduced articles of impeachment against a witness testifying before a House committee she sits on.

The Georgia Republican shredded U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves of the D.C. District, who has been overseeing the prosecutions — and confinement — of January 6 suspects during a House Oversight Committee hearing.

Specifically, Greene blasted Graves for allegedly failing to pursue charges for existing federal laws while focusing on prosecuting people accused of merely trespassing in the U.S. Capitol Building the day of the riot, the Western Journal noted.

The congresswoman additionally asserted that Graves has not taken action to prosecute individuals who committed crimes during the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots in the city. And she further referenced several instances in which the U.S. attorney’s office in D.C. refused to effectively pursue violent criminals.

MTG also noted that Graves has the “unique ability to prosecute both local and federal cases.”

“However, Mr. Graves, your office has declined to prosecute 67 percent of those arrested in 2022,” Greene said.

“Instead, you are solely focused on prosecuting Jan. 6 cases from one single day in our history,” she noted further, adding that rates for murders, sexual abuse, and property crimes have shot up dramatically in the nation’s capital in the past couple of years.

“Just yesterday morning, a little innocent 12-year-old girl was shot while sleeping in her own bed by another rampant, violent criminal who has probably been previously arrested and not prosecuted,” she said before wondering aloud if the federal prosecutor believes that city residents are more concerned about “catching a stray bullet” or “a grandma walking through the Capitol more than two years ago.”

“You have already abused your position by maliciously prosecuting at least 1,000 people from Jan. 6, but you recently announced that you’re going to arrest about 1,000 more,” she said.

Greene pointed out specific cases in which individuals who participated in the January 6th rally faced intense prosecution from Graves’ office. She highlighted the tragic outcome of Matthew Perna, who tragically took his own life while encountering the aggressive legal actions taken against him, the Western Journal noted furhter.

“Matthew Lawrence Perna died on February 25, 2022 of a broken heart,” his family said in an obituary. “His community (which he loved), his country, and the justice system killed his spirit and his zest for life.”

Greene noted: “The time for weaponizing the Department of Justice needs to come to an end.”

“Because you refuse to prosecute real criminals that are violating all the crimes here in Washington, D.C. … I am introducing articles of impeachment on you, Mr. Graves,” she said before then yielding back the remainder of her time.

And, as promised, Greene did just that: “With a total dereliction of duty as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Matthew Graves must be impeached,” a statement from her office said.

Graves has prosecuted hundreds of individuals who participated in a political protest and has sought lengthy pretrial detention, even for nonviolent defendants. His cruel and unusual tactics have driven innocent people, arrested on phony charges, to suicide, including Matthew Perna.

Graves is systematically criminalizing political dissent at the behest of his handlers in the White House. By focusing so much effort on the persecution of political prisoners, Graves has diminished the manpower needed to fight crime not just in DC, but all over the country. DOJ attorneys have been transferred to DC just to help Graves wage his war against political opponents.

His wife, Fatima Goss Graves, is the CEO of the National Women’s Legal Center. She is using her 100-million-dollar business to run a pressure campaign against Justice Clarence Thomas. Matthew Graves and his wife are clearly partisan hacks with no respect for the justice system or the rule of law.
