Another Republican congressional candidate backed by former President Donald Trump came out on top during Tuesday’s primaries, furthering his hold on the GOP.
What’s more, the New Hampshire candidate, Karoline Leavitt, who worked in Trump’s White House communications office and later for the No. 3 House Republican, Rep. Elise Stefanik, would become the youngest woman ever to be elected to Congress after turning 25 last month, the Daily Wire noted.
“It feels like the honor of a lifetime,” the young politico told NH Journal on the heels of her victory. “I’m so humbled, I’m at a loss for words over the outpouring of support from conservatives, from every community.
“When we got into this a year ago, nobody knew who I was,” Leavitt said. “I had no money in the campaign account. I just had a drive and a work ethic and a passion to fight for this state and that is paid off over the last year.”
The outlet added:
Republican Matt Mowers, who worked on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and served in the State Department during the Trump administration, was the presumed frontrunner for nearly a year, but in recent weeks Leavitt was able to pull ahead. The 25-year-old received support from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), and other big-name Republicans.
During her victory speech on Tuesday, Leavitt acknowledged the historic nature of her win and predicted another victory in the November election against Democrat Rep. Chris Pappas.
“Tonight, we made history,” Leavitt told her supporters. “And I look forward to serving as the youngest congresswoman in United States history when we beat Chris Pappas.”
“As many of you know, my youth is one of the many reasons that I felt compelled to run for Congress in the first place,” she noted further. “Because it’s my generation of Americans — your children, your grandchildren — who are not being served well by the current state of our education system, our media and our entire culture.”
Following her win, she told Fox News Tuesday evening she wants to see a “home-grown America First conservative going up against Chris Pappas this fall.”
She also blew off claims that her platform is “far-right” and countered that being a political leader who puts her constituents and America first is “not partisan.”

In recent weeks, President Biden, Democrats, and left-wing commentators on cable news outlets have begun referring to Trump’s supporters and his endorsed candidates as “MAGA Republicans” who are somehow a threat to the country. But according to a new survey, the mantra is not playing well in the country, even among self-described Democrats.
In a separate report, The Daily Wire notes:
According to a survey of 1,277 U.S. adults, conducted by I&I/TIPP between September 7-9, nearly two-thirds of Americans, 62% agreed that the White House’s attacks on so-called “MAGA Republicans” increase division in the country, while just 29% disagreed. Majorities of Americans also agreed that Biden’s attacks on “MAGA Republicans” endangers Americans’ First Amendment Rights, and was a politically biased use of the office.
“President Biden’s recent comments about Trump supporters espousing ‘semi-fascism’ and accusing the former president’s followers of representing ‘an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic’ shocked many Americans,” the outlet reported. “Now, despite White House denials of ill intent, a majority of voters call Biden’s remarks divisive.”
“The poll asked respondents to agree or disagree with the statement: ‘President Biden’s characterization of “MAGA” Republicans increases division in the country.’ A total of 62% agreed, including 37% who strongly agreed,” the outlet continued.
According to polling, self-identified Democrats actually agreed with that statement more than Republicans and Independents. The survey found that 73 percent of Dems agreed Biden’s characterization is causing a wider divide in the country, a figure that includes 43 percent sho strongly agreed. Only 19 percent disagreed and 9 percent of them strongly.
In addition, 57 percent of Independents said Biden’s remarks are divisive including 34 percent who strongly thought so, while only 29 percent disagreed and 17 percent strongly disagreed.
“Close to a majority of Republicans, 50%, agreed, including 31% who strongly agreed, while 41% disagreed, including 31% who strongly disagreed,” The Daily Wire noted.
