Actor Alec Baldwin posted a video Saturday in which he bizarrely demanded justice for the woman he allegedly shot and killed on the New Mexico set of the movie “Rust” last fall.
Baldwin called on investigators to make sure they do “everything in their power” to “find out what really happened,” though it seems clear that he is the one who pulled the trigger on a prop gun that contained a live round, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
In the video, Baldwin said that the only way to honor Hutchins is to “find the truth,” before going on to blame “right-wing hate” and “January 6th” as somehow being responsible for negative media coverage surrounding the shooting.
“The only way we can honor the death of Halyna Hutchins is to find out the truth. That’s what I’m working towards, insisting on, demanding, that the organizations involved in this investigation do everything in their power to find out what really happened,” said the actor, adding without a hint of irony or self-awareness: “Regardless of what they say in these right-wing rag sheets and people who are all about hate.”
Baldwin then claimed that it is a “lie” he is not cooperating with investigators before going on to seemingly contraction himself.
“Any suggestion that we’re not complying, myself and any lawyers I’m working with is a lie,” he said. “Any suggestion that I am not complying with requests or orders or demands or search warrants about my phone, that’s bulls**t, that’s a lie.”
Then he added: “We are going to. As soon as we get through this process then by all means we will comply. But I have no worries about that. That’s all going to work itself out.”

Speaking of hate, it was Baldwin who, during an appearance on Conan O’Brien’s late-night show in 1998 during the impeachment of then-President Bill Clinton, suggested in a screamfest that Americans should stone GOP Rep. Henry Hyde to death and kill the families of GOP lawmakers conducting the trial in the House, per Newsbusters:
I am thinking to myself in other countries they are laughing at us 24 hours a day and I’m thinking to myself if we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, [starts to shout] all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone [House Republican] Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! [crowd cheers] Wait! Shut up! Shut up! No shut up! I’m not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families! [stands up screaming] What is happening in this country? What is happening? UGHHH UGHHH!!!!
And after the January 6 riot at the Capitol, Baldwin viciously tweeted, “Put Ted Cruz in the stocks and throw rotten fruit and buckets of horse piss at him. Then ride him on a rail. Then tar and feather him. And film it. For Netflix.”
Newsbusters added:
Just think about that sentence: “We’d stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and we’d kill their wives and children.” Less than 19 years later, a deranged Democratic activist, James Hodgkinson, attempted to murder GOP members as they practiced for the congressional baseball game.
In 2017, Baldwin insisted he was only joking about murdering Hyde: “But all your gutless weasels in the GOP insisted I actually threatened Hyde.” Would it be clear to everyone he was joking?
In December, a script supervisor said in a tearful interview she saw the actor point the prop gun at Hutchins and fire it.
“I saw Alec going through his movement with the gun for the camera,” Mamie Mitchell, the person who called 911 on Oct. 21, said.
“I was holding my script in my left hand and had taken out my iPhone and opened up my photos to check the continuity on his shirt and vest.,” the script supervisor said. “Then an explosion. Deafening loud gunshot.”
“I was stunned. I heard someone moaning and I turned around and my director was falling backwards and holding his upper body and I turned around toward Alec and saw Halyna going down to the left of me,” she said.
“Alec Baldwin intentionally, without just cause or excuse, cocked and fired and loaded gun even though the upcoming scene to be filmed did not call for the cocking and firing of a firearm,” she said.
