Former First Lady Melania Trump revealed that her son, Barron Trump, was recently turned down when he tried to open a new bank account. Melania said the denial was because of political bias and called it part of a bigger “cancel culture” that she thinks has targeted her family.

In her new book, “Melania,” Melania Trump wrote about this experience and how frustrated she was with the situation. She also said that she had been “de-banked.”

The former first lady said that soon after the Trumps left the White House in early 2021, her now-18-year-old son was not allowed to open an account at the bank she had always liked. She did not say which bank it was.

“I was shocked and dismayed to learn that my long-time bank decided to terminate my account and deny my son the opportunity to open a new one,” Melania wrote.

She said that what happened was an example of racism based on politics and even asked if it was a violation of individuals’ civil rights.

Even though the accusations were very serious, she decided not to say the name of the bank that was involved.

“The ‘cancel mob’ now includes corporations, traditional media, influential social media figures, and cultural institutions,” she wrote in her memoir, warning of the dangerous precedent this sets in modern society. She goes on to highlight how businesses—both large and small—continue to participate in this “disheartening trend,” one that she finds increasingly pervasive.

Melania Trump told Fox News about the impact of left-wing attacks on her husband and their family as a whole.

As she embarks on a media tour to promote her highly anticipated memoir, Melania revealed that a charitable donation she made to fund scholarships for foster children was rejected due to her last name.

“It was all agreed that they will accept my donations for the foster students and because of the board directors, they called back, they found out that it was me, they didn’t, they said we cannot go on,” she said.

The donation was made to an unnamed university after the Trump Family left the White House in 2021, she said.

“And it’s very, very sad because who suffered? They were children from foster community. They didn’t have a scholarship that somebody would provide for them. They didn’t want to do business with me because of political affiliation, my political beliefs,” Melania added.

In another part of the interview, Melania defended her husband against common media and left-wing criticisms of his character.

“What do you want to say to women who, may have a picture of President Trump in their heads, they think they know who he is. What do you want to say to them that they might not know about your husband?” asked Fox News host Maria Bartiromo.

“They need to know that he is passionate about this country, passionate about women and men as well, everybody. He wants to make their lives better safe, prosperous. He’s warm, he loves people,” the former first lady responded.

“And I understand that maybe sometimes they see him tough and some tweets maybe they would not like it and they didn’t like it. I understand that, but he needs to fight back, too. When he’s attacked, he needs to fight back. He only wants good for this country. The business of politics could be very mean and cutthroat,” she noted further.

Bartiromo also inquired about the Trump family’s safety following two nearly successful assassination attempts.

Melania expressed her trust in her own security detail but mentioned that she senses “something is going on” with the Secret Service leadership that needs to be addressed. She also commended her husband for returning to Butler, Pennsylvania, just over two months after he was shot during a rally on July 13.

“I think it’s great. I support him. And he is a fighter. He will never stop. He’s on the go every day. He’s helping this country. And he wants to make America great again, prosperous, safe and I think the people of this country support him tremendously,” she said.
