Joe Biden’s disastrous handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal has cost him huge swathes of Independent voters.

According to an NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll, just 41% of Independent voters approve of Biden’s job performance, which is an eight-point drop from August.

A devastating 51% of respondents disapprove of Biden’s job performance.

Another concerning trend that the poll found is that Biden’s support has slipped by five points with Democrats, from 90% to 85%.

Slipping five points with your own party and losing huge chunks of the independent vote could have grave consequences for Democrats in next year’s midterm elections.

Biden’s team is under pressure as more polls have been released showing that Americans disapprove of his performance as president.

A Washington Post-ABC News poll found that Biden’s approval numbers have fallen to a dismal 44 percent.

The poll also found that 24 percent of respondents “strongly disapproved” of Biden’s performance in office.

Only 24 percent said they “strongly approve” of Biden’s performance.

Breitbart noted:

–In April, 29 percent strongly approved of Biden’s performance with an overall approval rating of 53 percent, nine points higher than September’s overall number.

–Biden disapproval numbers have also dropped. In April, 39 percent disapproved of Biden job performance, while in September it stands at 42, a three-point shift.

–The shift in strong sentiment seems indicative of nationwide polling in battleground states, where Biden is struggling heading into the 2022 midterms.

The vast majority of American voters also believe Biden should resign as president following the disastrous withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.

According to Rasmussen Reports on Wednesday, a poll asked respondents “Should President Joe Biden resign because of the way the US withdrawal from Afghanistan was handled?”

Some 52 percent of likely U.S. voters responded that they believe Biden should resign, in a poll that was taken over telephone and online nationally.

According to the poll, only 39 percent of likely U.S. voters disagreed, following 9 percent who said they are not sure.

The survey points out that opinions over Biden’s resignation are “sharply divided along party lines,” with three-quarters of Republicans agreeing that Biden should retire.

A large percentage of Democrats or 32 percent also believe that Biden should retire for how he handled the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Additionally, 48 percent of independents believe he should not.

According to Rasmussen Reports, the survey also asked respondents to indicate whether they agreed with the statement: “I think Joe Biden deserves to be impeached because he’s abandoned thousands of Afghans who fought with us and  he’s going to abandon some American citizens because he capitulated to the Taliban to a 31 August deadline.”

60 percent of respondents said they “somewhat agree” with the statement, followed by 46 percent who said they “strongly agree” with the suggestion that Biden should be impeached.

Another 37 percent said they “somewhat disagree” with the statement, and 29 percent said they “strongly disagree.”

Despite the lack of confidence in Biden’s ability to lead the country, voters said they are not at all confident with the abilities of Vice President Kamala Harris to assume office.

47 percent said Harris is “not at all qualified,” followed by 11 percent who said, “she is not very qualified.”

Only 38 percent of those who took the survey indicated any amount of confidence in Harris’ ability to assume Biden’s role.
