President Joe Biden’s selection to head up the Department of Homeland Security’s new “Disinformation Governance Board” pushed misinformation about an ultimately debunked narrative claiming former President Donald Trump was linked to Russia — allegations that special counsel John Durham is now scrutinizing.

Nina Jankowicz promoted the baseless Trump-Russia collusion claims that emanated from Hillary Clinton’s failed 2016 presidential campaign, as reported on Monday by the Washington Examiner.

In particular, “Jankowicz has cited Christopher Steele as a disinformation expert, made misleading claims about the funding of his dossier, cast doubt on the Hunter Biden laptop story, downplayed Iranian election meddling, and critiqued the Wuhan, China, lab leak hypothesis,” the outlet reported, adding it “can report she repeatedly shared the debunked claims about Trump-Russia collusion in 2016 and beyond.”

“Husband texted me ‘you have news to wake up to.’ Never thought it would be this,” Jankowicz, a former adviser to the Ukrainian government, tweeted on Nov. 1, 2016. “Confirms our worst fears about Trump. I am horrified.”

She shared an infamous 2016 Halloween tweet from Clinton that said, ”It’s time for Trump to answer serious questions about his ties to Russia.”

That tweet included a screenshot with this caption: “Donald Trump has a secret server (Yes, Donald Trump). It was set up to communicate privately with a Putin-tied Russian bank called Alfa Bank.”

Sharing an article from the far-left site Slate by Franklin Foer, who was getting contrived Trump-Russia narratives from political opposition research firm Fusion GPS, Jankowicz tweeted once again: “Trump had not one, but two secret email servers to communicate with influential Russian bank. Unbelievable.”

“The FBI, CIA, special counsel Robert Mueller, a bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee investigation, and Durham’s team have all cast doubt on or shot down the Alfa-Bank claims,” the Examiner reported.

“Democratic cybersecurity lawyer Michael Sussmann has been indicted on charges of concealing his clients, including the Clinton campaign, from the FBI when he pushed the debunked Alfa-Bank allegations,” the outlet added.

Last month, Durham introduced evidence in a court filing also appearing to debunk the collusion narrative.

In the filing, Durham said that information from Sussmann alleging there was coordination between Trump and Russia was “not technically plausible” and was “user created.”

Fox News added:

In the filing, Durham responded to objections from Sussmann’s defense regarding what evidence could be admissible at Sussmann’s trial, which is scheduled to begin next month. Sussmann is accused of lying to the FBI by saying he was not attending a meeting on behalf of a particular client when he was actually presenting the information on behalf of the HIllary Clinton campaign and a technology executive with whom he worked.

Durham in February first revealed that the government would establish during trial that among the data “exploited” was domain name system (DNS) internet traffic pertaining to “a particular healthcare provider, Trump Tower, Donald Trump’s Central Park West apartment building, and the Executive Office of the President of the United States (EOP).”

Durham noted in February that data had been exploited “by mining the EOP’s DNS traffic and other data for the purpose of gathering derogatory information about Donald Trump,” noting further that the data was used to establish “an inference” and “narrative” tying Trump to Russia.

However, Sussmann’s legal team is moving to preclude evidence concerning the “gathering” of that “DNS data” by “Tech Executive 1,” who has been identified as Rodney Joffe, and his associates.

In his filing last month, Durham argued that the collection of the data is a “necessary factual backdrop to the charged conduct” of being dishonest with the FBI.
