Biden’s Climate Change Goals Would Not Limit Red Meat To 4 Lbs Per Year

Correction: Politifact reported the following.

President Joe Biden’s climate plans do not include restrictions on red meat consumption, the White House said. Biden never mentioned red meat when he announced his plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 50% to 52% by 2030.

The false claims about Biden restricting access to meat started with a Daily Mail article that linked Biden’s goals to an unrelated 2020 study on meat consumption. A study author told PolitiFact it “has nothing to do with Biden or his climate change plan.”

Fox News and Fox Business Network hosts repeated the false claims about Biden, saying he would limit the number of hamburgers Americans could eat.

Original Story:

First it was Democrats telling you that you had to get health insurance because it was good for you, then it was wear a mask because it will protect you and then it was get a vaccine because it will protect you and everyone.

Democrats use things that they claim are in your own best interest to enact their totalitarian agenda of control and Joe Biden is doing it again.

Now we are not telling you to not wear a mask or not get a vaccine, we are conservatives, not scientists or totalitarians like the Democrats. We believe you should make your own choices.

But Democrats like Joe Biden think they know what is good for you more than you do, and their most recent decree is that you need to eat less red meat. Much less, The Daily Mail reported.

President Joe Biden’s ambitious plan to slash greenhouse emissions by 50 to 52 percent over the next decade could prompt sweeping changes that could affect how Americans eat, drive and heat their homes…

Americans may have to cut their red meat consumption by a whopping 90 percent and cut their consumption of other animal based foods in half.

Gradually making those changes by 2030 could see diet-related greenhouse gas emissions reduced by 50 percent, according to a study by Michigan University’s Center for Sustainable Systems.

To do that, it would require Americans to only consume about four pounds of red meat per year, or 0.18 ounces per day.

It equates to consuming roughly one average sized burger per month.

Biden has not made the decree himself but that is apparently what it would take to meet Biden’s climate goals.

Fox News host Larry Kudlow mocked the plan.

“Speaking of stupid, there’s a study coming out of the University of Michigan which says that to meet the Biden Green New Deal targets, America has to, get this, America has to stop eating meat, stop eating poultry and fish, seafood, eggs, dairy, and animal-based fats. Ok, got that? No burger on July 4. No steaks on the barbecue. I’m sure Middle America is just going to love that. Can you grill those Brussels sprouts? So get ready. You can throw back a plant-based beer with your grilled Brussels sprouts and wave your American flag. Call it July 4th Green,” he said.

“Now, I’m making fun of this because I intend to make fun of it. This kind of thing is stupid. It comes from a bunch of ideological zealots who don’t care one whit about America’s well-being. Not one whit,” he said.

Can you imagine the United States government dictating to you what your diet has to be? That is kin to communist China telling its citizens how many kids they can have.

“The signs are unmistakable. The science is undeniable. The cost of inaction is mounting,” Biden said in a speech on Thursday. “This is a moral imperative, an economic imperative.”

“Time is short, but I believe we can do this,” he said. “And I believe that we will do. Thank you for being part of the summit.”

Of course, since the 1970 Earth Day Summit, we have been told of numerous existential threats that never happened, AEI.org reported.

George Wald, a Harvard biologist, estimated that “civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”

Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half….,” Life Magazine reported in 1970.

“By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate…that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, `Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, `I am very sorry, there isn’t any,’” ecologist Kenneth Watt said.

“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years,” Kenneth Watt said of global cooling. “If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”
