Conservative commentator Dan Boningo is warning conservatives that credit card companies could cut off enemies of the political left.

During an interview on Fox News, Bongino spoke about several large corporations cutting ties with Russia and refusing to do business with anyone in the country as a result of the conflict with Ukraine.

Bongino warned that something similar could happen in America against conservatives if liberals create enough of an uproar over a certain event or cause.

“The saddest part of this whole thing — I’m out to dinner with my wife with my wife before I get the air, and We’re having a conversation and she asked me about Mastercard, ‘What do you think Mastercard cutting off Putin and Russia and Paypal and other payment services?’” Bongino began.

“And I said, you know what, ordinarily I would say, ‘Wow, that’s really terrific, good, it will put pressure on them.’ But, you know what seriously concerns me? That the left will see this as a Bat-signal to go and turn this on their political enemies here at home. And by the way, that’s not a conspiracy theory. They have already done this kind of stuff. Strike kicking Donald Trump off. That’s got to concern you too focusing on this stuff over at Heritage,” he added.

HP Inc. told shareholders recently that it would cease all operations in Russia.

In February, HP suspended all shipments to Russia and Belarus in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “Considering the current environment and long-term outlook for Russia, we have decided to stop our Russia activity and have begun the process of fully winding down our operations there.”

Private equity firm Pamplona is working with U.S. investment companies to help cut ties with Russian oligarch backers, Bloomberg reported.

The European Union also imposed an embargo on most Russian oil imports, which could leave Russia economically weaker.

“Europe, the United States and much of the rest of the world could suffer because oil prices, which have been marching higher for months, could climb further as Europe buys energy from more distant suppliers. European companies will have to scour the world for the grades of oil that their refineries can process as easily as Russian oil. There could even be sporadic shortages of certain fuels like diesel, which is crucial for trucks and agricultural equipment,” the New York Times reported.

This week, McDonald’s announced its final exit from Russia, making it one of almost 1,000 U.S.-based companies that have partly, or entirely, ceased operations in Russia.

McDonald’s said it expects to lose around $1.4 billion from the move.

“After more than 30 years of operations in the country, McDonald’s Corporation announced it will exit the Russian market and has initiated a process to sell its Russian business. This follows McDonald’s announcement on March 8, 2022, that it had temporarily closed restaurants in Russia and paused operations in the market,” McDonald’s announced in a statement.

“The humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, and the precipitating unpredictable operating environment, have led McDonald’s to conclude that continued ownership of the business in Russia is no longer tenable, nor is it consistent with McDonald’s values,” the statement added.

McDonald’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Chris Kempczinski, said, “We have a long history of establishing deep, local roots wherever the Arches shine. We’re exceptionally proud of the 62,000 employees who work in our restaurants, along with the hundreds of Russian suppliers who support our business, and our local franchisees. Their dedication and loyalty to McDonald’s make today’s announcement extremely difficult. However, we have a commitment to our global community and must remain steadfast in our values. And our commitment to our values means that we can no longer keep the Arches shining there.”

Bongino’s point was that this is something that could happen in America, with conservative figures and/or websites being punished because they did or said something the Left did not like.
