Biden Says He Was Not Tested For Coronavirus On Saturday

There is serious concern for the participants and attendees of the first presidential debate of 2020 but for former Vice President Joe Biden it is even more serious.

Being 77-years-old places Biden at a higher risk than many of those who were at the event, but he has not been tested, The Daily Mail reported.

Joe Biden was not tested for COVID-19 on Saturday, and will not be tested until Sunday, he has said.

The 77-year-old is considered at high risk if he contracts the virus, given his age, and was with Donald Trump four days ago at the presidential debate in Cleveland. Trump has since tested positive for the virus and is in hospital.

On Saturday morning Biden was at Mass inside a church in downtown Wilmington, Delaware – his hometown.

As he left the church, he was asked whether he had been tested today.

‘No – but I am tomorrow morning,’ he said.

Biden, whose campaign has stopped negative attack as while President Donald Trump is in the hospital, is scheduled to be in Florida with his wife Jill on Monday.

When President Trump announced his diagnosis Biden offered his support to the president but also said that he had been tested.

“Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery. We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family,” he said.

“I’m happy to report that Jill and I have tested negative for COVID. Thank you to everyone for your messages of concern. I hope this serves as a reminder: wear a mask, keep social distance, and wash your hands,” he said.

He was asked on Saturday if he had been tested and said no, but on Friday he said he was, unless he is actually getting tested every single day.

At his age, if he has the resources to do it, it would be wise to be tested daily as an abundance of caution.

As for President Trump, his doctors said on Saturday that he was doing well prior to him releasing a video message to confirm that.

“I came here, I wasn’t feeling so well, I feel much better now. We’re working hard to get me back. I have to get all the way back because we still have to make America great again,” he said.

“We’ve done an awfully good job of that but we still have steps to go and I have to finish that job. I’ll be back, I think, I’ll be back soon and I look forward to finishing up the campaign the way it was started, the way we’ve been doing and the kind of numbers we’ve been doing.

“We’ve been so proud of it but this was something that’s happened and it was something that happened to millions of people all over the world and I’ve been fighting for them, not just in the US, I’m fighting for them all over the world,” he said.

“I don’t know the next period of a few days, I guess. that’s the real test so we’ll be seeing what happened over those next couple of days,” he said.
