The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has launched an investigation into business dealings linked to the first family, including President Joe Biden himself and his son, Hunter Biden, as well as others.

The GOP-led committee has sent a letter to Vuk Jeremic requesting a transcribed interview and the production of documents related to a now-defunct Chinese energy firm called CEFC, Robert Hunter Biden, James Biden, and their associates. Jeremic has testified about his business relationships with certain CEFC officials, including Chairman Ye Jianming and Patrick Ho.

He held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and later served as president of the United Nations General Assembly from 2012 to 2013.

In the letter, the committee noted that it “is investigating President Biden’s connections to certain international and domestic business transactions and practices, including his family and associates who peddled influence to generate millions of dollars for the Biden family.

“The Committee’s review of testimony in a federal criminal prosecution—United States v. Patrick Ho—and other documents show that you have records and information related to the Biden family’s foreign business dealings,” the letter continued. “The defendant in that prosecution, Patrick Ho, was convicted of international bribery and money laundering in 2018 and was the former head of CEFC China Energy’s (CEFC) U.S.-based operation. CEFC—now state-owned by the Chinese Communist Party—approached the Biden family to expand its energy portfolio in the United States. The Committee requests you schedule a transcribed interview with Committee staff and produce certain documents related to CEFC, Robert Hunter Biden, James Biden, and their business associates.”

The letter continued: “In 2018, the Department of Justice (DOJ) convicted Patrick Ho for Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations, money laundering, and conspiracy offenses. A district court sentenced Mr. Ho to three years in prison for his role in the international bribery scheme.”

“The defendant in that prosecution, Patrick Ho, was convicted of international bribery and money laundering in 2018 and was the former head of CEFC China Energy’s (CEFC) U.S.-based operation,” the committee noted further. “CEFC—now state-owned by the Chinese Communist Party—approached the Biden family to expand its energy portfolio in the United States. The Committee requests you schedule a transcribed interview with Committee staff and produce certain documents related to CEFC, Robert Hunter Biden, James Biden, and their business associates.

“The Committee is investigating whether President Biden knew of or was involved in certain foreign business ventures that included the same CEFC officials who participated in the schemes described in United States v. Patrick Ho,” the letter continued, adding: “Evidence shows that you developed a business relationship with Hunter Biden and his associates and communicated with them about Chairman Ye and CEFC.”

Joe Biden has repeatedly claimed that he had no knowledge of son Hunter’s business dealings, though a former business association, Tony Bobulinski, has said otherwise.

A presidential historian noted on President’s Day, of all occasions, that Joe Biden is on track to become the worst leader in the country’s history. New York Times best-selling author Craig Shirley told Just the News’ podcast on Monday: “I ranked him among our five worst presidents in American history.”

The ranking was initially based on an article authored by Shirley, which was written one year after Joe Biden took office as President. Shirley has now revealed that he plans to update the ranking two years after Biden was inaugurated.

“He’s actually going to become the worst president in American history,” Shirley told the program.

Just the News added: “Most recently, he got backlash for choosing to go to Ukraine instead of going to East Palestine, Ohio where people are dealing with the aftermath of the train derailment, resulting in toxic chemicals affecting the community. Shirley, a former adviser to Ronald Reagan, accused Biden of trying to destroy American exceptionalism.”

“Everything he does seems to be about destroying American exceptionalism, the American experiment, and the American creed,” he stated. “I’ve come to the conclusion he’s doing it on purpose.”
