North Carolina Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn is calling on Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and remove Joe Biden as president following the terrorist attack in Afghanistan that resulted in nearly a dozen U.S. servicemen being killed.
In a scathing letter to Harris and the rest of the cabinet, Cathown argued that Biden should be removed from office over his disastrous handling of the Afghanistan crisis.
“Our nation is at a crisis point,” he wrote, warning that China and Russia are resurging, inflation in America has reached record levels, the southern border is being overrun by illegal aliens, and other global threats are affecting the U.S.
“Joe Biden’s physical inability to lead is not a political talking point – it’s a demonstrable fact,” Cawthorn said. “He is not mentally fit to serve as president of the United States.”
“I cannot sit idly by and watch the nation that I love spiral into death and devastation because our leader cannot discharge his duties,” he said. “There is no time to wait, the time for action is now.”
“As the person that works closest with the president, you are also the one who best knows the differences between the perception the West Wing wants to project and the ugly reality,” he added.
“The Constitution provides us a remedy,” Cawthorn wrote. “Section 4 of the 25th Amendment lays out the process by which the sitting president may be removed from office for inability to ‘discharge the powers and duties of his office.’”
“I recognize the enormity of this request, yet that enormity is dwarfed by the scale of the consequences that face our country,” he wrote.
Other leading Republicans have called on Biden to resign over the Afghan crisis.
BREAKING: I just formally requested the U.S. Cabinet invoke the 25th Amendment.
Joe Biden does not simply have a pattern of poor decision-making, his mental decline is on full display.
We must not allow this mentally unstable individual to direct our country one second longer.

The Biden administration’s catastrophic response to the Afghanistan crisis has led to several top officials calling for Biden to be removed from office.
The Senate Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committees — both chaired by Democrats — are planning to investigate the catastrophic withdrawal.
Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott suggested using the 25th Amendment to remove Biden from the presidency.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has slammed Biden for his handling of the withdrawal of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, which have descended into chaos over the weekend as Taliban forces seized much of the country.
McCarthy is now calling for investigations into Biden’s handling of the crisis.
Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said she is drafting Articles of Impeachment against Biden as the debacle on his Afghanistan withdrawal of troops continues.
Kamala Harris is also reportedly refusing to accept any responsibility.
A source reportedly said that Harris refused to be part of addressing the American people after the terrorist group took over Kubal, the capital of Afghanistan.
A source said Harris screamed: “They will not pin this sh*t on me!”
Republican Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw accused Biden of “treason” and of providing the Taliban with a “hit list” of Americans to set their sights on.
“If true, this qualifies as borderline treason. We need to find out who is responsible for giving the Taliban a hit list and they need to go to prison,” he said on Twitter.
