The late actor Bob Saget’s “Full House” and “Fuller House” costar Candace Cameron Bure believes there are more questions surrounding her television dad’s death.
She was interviewed on Fox News on Wednesday and said that she was still in close contact with Saget’s wife Kelly.
“I keep in close contact with Kelly,” she said. “It’s been difficult these past couple weeks because of more things that have come out and there’s a lot of questions.”
She said she is “trying not to think about it” because she wants “to remember Bob and what a kind and loving and amazing person that he was and let it be that.”
“It’s been a little over a month, and there’s days that are great and there’s days that just hits you,” the star said.
Bure, who is a Christian, made sweatshirts that read, “Love like Jesus, hug like Bob,” which are available online.
“I did it really for selfish reasons because I love Jesus,” the star said. “He’s the best example of humanity and sacrifice. And then there’s nobody that hugs like Bob, and I will always remember that as a huge part of his legacy.”
Bure explained that 100 percent of proceeds from the sweatshirt sales will go to the Scleroderma Research Foundation, a cause for which Saget raised millions of dollars after his sister, Gay, died from the disease.
She said she wants to carry on Saget’s legacy of showing love and giving hugs to those in his life.
“He was so emotionally available, and he just always, always let you know that he loved you,” the star said. “Every text, every phone call, every moment in person. He would give you the biggest hug, and he always let you know how much he cared about you.”
“That is such an incredibly powerful gift that he gave,” she argued. “And that’s what I want to carry on. I want to hug like Bob.”
A judge has blocked the release of Bob Saget’s death record a day after his family sued to have it blocked, The Daily Wire reported.
“Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three daughters, Aubrey, Lara and Jennifer, filed the lawsuit Tuesday against Orange County Sheriff John Mina and the District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office,” NBC News reported on Wednesday. “Both agencies have been handling the probe into Saget’s death after the comedian, 65, was found dead Jan. 9 in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.”
Circuit Judge Vincent Chu determined that Saget’s family has a “clear legal right or interest in the Protected Records as the surviving spouse and children of Mr. Saget.” Indeed, the lawsuit stated that “Plaintiffs will suffer irreparable harm in the form of extreme mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress if Defendants release the Records in response to public records requests or otherwise disseminate the Records for any other reason or purpose.”
In the wake of Saget’s death, some physicians have noted that his injuries appeared consistent with severe trauma — although not necessarily consistent with a violent attack.
“I think the autopsy report does raise a number of questions about the nature and extent of the injuries. If we typically see slip and falls that occur usually in the bathroom, someone hits the back of their head on the shower or the bathroom floor,” Dr. Jason Freeman, a neurologist and stroke expert said to MSNBC. “These injuries described in detail in the autopsy report seem to go beyond that. And I think, as you described in your opening, this is where some of the medical professionals began to speculate about what could have caused the actual injuries.”
