Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz gave some serious shade to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after the death of a man who was known as Jeffrey Epstein’s “pimp.”

In a scene reminiscent of the suicide of Epstein, the financier and convicted sex trafficker, one of the men who helped him recruit girls has also died in his prison cell of a suspected suicide, and the prison cameras were not on.

French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who is alleged to have gotten more than a thousand women and girls for Epstein to sleep with, was found during a check around 1 AM in his cell, hanging, The Daily Mail reported.

It comes days after Prince Andrew, 62, agreed to settle Virginia Roberts’s lawsuit accusing him of sex abuse after they met through Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Roberts accused Brunel, 76, of procuring more than a thousand women and girls for Epstein to sleep with and he was awaiting trial in France for raping minors.

His death in an alleged hanging will fuel conspiracy theories around the Epstein affair after he also died in prison while awaiting trial in what authorities say was a hanging.

However video cameras were not running at the time he died in the cell he shared with another inmate.

Prosecutors in Paris confirmed Brunel was found hanging in his cell in La Santé, in the south of the capital city, in the early hours of Saturday morning. It is not known whether Brunel was sharing a cell or whether there was any CCTV footage inside.

“A night patrol found his lifeless body at about 1am,” a source set to The Daily Mail. “A judicial enquiry has been launched, and early evidence points to suicide.”

He was indicted in December 2020 after being interrogated by a magistrate and a specialist unit of anti-pedophile police for two days.

He was arrested at Charles de Gaulle airport attempting to get on a plane to Dakar, Senegal when claiming he was heading on vacation.

“Brunel was suspected of having been part of a global underage sex ring organized by the late American multi-billionaire Epstein, who committed suicide in 2019, while awaiting trial for numerous sex crimes,” The Daily Mail said.

In response to the news, Sen. Cruz tweeted an Intercept story and jokingly asked about Clinton’s whereabouts.

“Anyone know where Hillary was this weekend?” he said.

Others on Twitter also made quips about the former Secretary of State after the fashion designer’s death.

“Modeling agent and Jeffrey Epstein associate Jean-Luc Brunel found dead in prison, reportedly by suicide. Was Hillary Clinton around anywhere?” one Twitter user said.

“Jeffrey Epstein’s French Connection Jean-Luc Brunel, ex Top Model agent, found dead hanging in his cell in French jail, accused like Ghislaine Maxwell. where was Hillary last night?” Puerto Rican musician and activist Willie Colón, who once endorsed Clinton for president, said.

“Tell me if you’ve seen this before…. French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who allegedly procured underaged girls Jeffrey Epstein, was reportedly found dead in his jail cell after committing suicide. Hillary Clinton’s location at the time is unknown,” another Twitter user said.

Thysia Huisman, a Dutch former model who claims to have been drugged and raped by the designer, was furious with his death.

“It makes me angry, because I’ve been fighting for years,” she said, The Guardian reported. “For me, the end of this was to be in court. And now that whole ending – which would help form closure – is taken away from me. To rebuild yourself, that is an essential step.”

Epstein was found dead in his jail cell from what was deemed a suicide in August 2019.
