As President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance prepare to take their oaths of office in January, a new scandal involving President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris has been uncovered.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents at the El Paso Port of Entry discovered 11,100 rounds of 7.62 ammunition in recent days found concealed in a pickup truck being driven by a Mexican national.
“The volume of this seizure is substantial,” CBP El Paso Director of Field Operations Hector Mancha said in a press release. “To put it in perspective CBP officers working at El Paso area ports seized 15,678 rounds of ammunition in all of fiscal year 2021, 7,224 rounds in fiscal year 2022 and 11,205 rounds in fiscal year 2023.”
“The seizure occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. when a 2011 Honda Ridgeline being driven by a 32-year-old Mexican man arrived from Mexico. The CBP officer at the primary inspection booth selected the vehicle for a secondary exam after a Low Energy Portal scan revealed possible anomalies in the appearance of the vehicle,” the press release said.
“A CBP currency and firearms detection canine searched the vehicle and alerted to the car. A secondary Z-portal X-ray scan also confirmed anomalies in the quarter panels. CBP officers searched the vehicle and located multiple bags of loose 7.62 ammunition hidden within,” it said.
“The driver was arrested for violation of 18 USC 545, smuggling goods into the U.S. He was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations and federal prosecution was secured. It was the second large ammunition seizure at BOTA in recent months. CBP officers seized more than 93,000 rounds of ammunition in the southbound lanes of BOTA on August 17, 2024,” it said.
Immigration and border issues were a massive concern for voters, exit polls showed, and the vice president did not do the job she needed to in addressing them during the campaign.
Trump expressed surprise in the days before Election Day after learning that Harris told CNN the night before that she believed the Biden administration had managed the border appropriately.
Trump was in Arizona on Thursday evening when he spoke with Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, who inquired about his thoughts on Harris’s town hall.
Melugin initially asked Trump for his reaction to Harris telling Anderson Cooper that she believes the former president is a “fascist.”
“I have never seen anybody so inept at speaking,” Trump said. “I thought her performance was horrible. I have never seen anything like it for a high-level politician. I can’t even believe it. But she did call me a fascist, and everyone knows that’s not true. They call me everything until, you know, something sticks.”
At that, Melugin then switched to the border, which has been his Fox News beat for most of the Biden-Harris regime:
MELUGIN: She said during that town hall she believes they have handled the border correctly. CNN pressed her on it. “Would you have done anything different? Do you regret anything?” And she said, “I think we did the right thing.”
TRUMP: Wait a minute. That she’s handled it correctly?
MELUGIN: Correct.
TRUMP: She said that?
MELUGIN: She said that. She said, “I think we did the right thing.”
TRUMP: We allowed 21 million people in. We allowed 13,099 murderers. We allowed mental institutions from all over the world. If she said that, look, she is a grossly incompetent person. And if she said that, they had the worst border in history.
During her CNN town hall with Anderson Cooper, Harris falsely claimed that Trump “didn’t do anything” on the border.
“I think of what he did and how he did it didn’t make much sense because he didn’t do much of anything,” she claimed.
Trump built more than 400 miles of border wall, and his “Remain In Mexico” policy was responsible for cutting illegal border crossings by the most in a generation — the latter of which has been confirmed by federal statistics and by Border Patrol agents.
