Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis mocked Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for visiting Florida amid what he called “draconian policies” in her home state of New York.

Ocasio-Cortez was caught maskless in Miami as cases of coronavirus reached a record high in New York.

During a press conference on Monday, DeSantis was asked about AOC enjoying her time in the Republican state and had the crowd laughing quite a few times.

DeSantis quipped, “If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician who decided to escape to Florida over the last two years, I’d be a pretty doggone wealthy man, lemme tell ya.”

“I mean, Congresspeople, mayors, governors, I mean, you name it. It’s interesting, though, the reception that some of these folks will get in Florida because I think a lot of Floridians say, ‘Wait a minute. You’re bashing us because we’re not doing your draconian policies and yet we’re the first place you want to flee to, to basically be able to enjoy life,’” DeSantis added.

“And so I’m not surprised to see that continue to happen. I could tell you, there are probably about a half-dozen governors who had restrictions on their people and then were spotted at various points in Florida. Some of it’s been public; some of it’s not been public, but you know, people tell me these things and so these things are spotted,” he continued.

“And so that’s just the reality that we’re dealing with,” he said. “I’m happy, though, that Florida’s a place where people know that they can come and they can live like normal people; they can make their own decisions.”

AOC has responded to the outrage on social media after photos showed her seated outside Doraku Sushi and Izakaya in Miami Beach Thursday afternoon, raising a cocktail in one and checking her phone in another.

Soon after the images went viral on social media, Ocasio-Cortez accused Republicans of attacking her because they have “deranged sexual frustrations” and need “therapy.”

“If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet. Ya creepy weirdos,” she said in response to a tweet from former advisor to President Donald Trump, Steve Cortes.

“It’s starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general. These people clearly need therapy, won’t do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It’s really weird,” she said.

In response to AOC’s meltdown, Owens fired back: “‘You just want to have sex me’ is potentially the filthiest, most immature response I’ve ever heard uttered from an elected official that is facing critique. She’s quite literally creating a Republican sexual fantasy about herself.”
