Tesla CEO Elon Musk believes President Joe Biden is too old to run for a second term in office.
“You don’t want to be too far from the average age of the population because it’s going to be very difficult to stay in touch,” Musk told the Financial Times, noting that he did vote for Biden in 2020 but plans to vote Republican this year for the first time in his life.
“Maybe one generation away from the average age is OK, but two generations?” he added. “At the point where you’ve got great-grandchildren, I don’t know, how in touch with the people are you? Is it even possible to be?”
“Musk, who said he voted for Biden in 2020 and has voted for Democrats in the past, has become critical of the president as their relationship deteriorated since Biden was elected. Musk said he plans to vote Republican in the next election. Biden will be close to 82 if he gets elected again in 2024. The White House did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment on Musk’s remarks,” Business Insider reported.
Musk traded words with Biden over the summer after the president dismissed Musk’s concerns about the economy.
“While Elon Musk is talking about that, Ford is increasing their investment, overwhelmingly. I think Ford is increasing its investment in building new electric vehicles. Six thousand employees — union employees, I might add, in the Midwest. The former Chrysler Corporation, they also making similar investments in electric vehicles. Intel is adding 20,000 new jobs making computer chips. So, you know, lots of luck on his trip to the moon,” the president said.

Musk responded by “thanking” the president with the sarcasm he has become noted for.

Musk hit Biden and Democrats in June with some reality that they are not going to like.
Musk warned that the United States is economically headed the way of Venezuela by following the Democrat Party’s policies.
“I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically – overwhelmingly. Like I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear,” he said during an episode of the All-In Podcast. “Now this election, I will.”
“The issue here is that the Democrat party is overly controlled by the unions and by the trial lawyers – particularly the class action lawyers,” he said. “And generally if you see something that is not in the interest of the people on the Democrat side, it’s going to come because of unions – which is just another form of monopoly – and the trial lawyers.”
“The real president is whoever controls the teleprompter,” he said. “The path to power is the path to the teleprompter.”
“This administration doesn’t seem to get a lot done,” he said. “The Trump administration, leaving Trump aside, there were a lot of people in the administration who were effective at getting things done.”
“In the case of Biden, he is simply too much captured by the unions, which was not the case with Obama,” he said.
“So it’s like the government can’t just, you know, issue checks far in excess of revenue without there being inflation, you know, the velocity of money held constant,” he said. “If the federal government writes checks, they never bounce. So that is effectively creation of more dollars. And if there are more dollars created, then the increase in the goods and services across the economy, then you have inflation, again, velocity of money held constant.”
“If the government could just issue massive amounts of money and deficits didn’t matter, then, well, why don’t we just make the deficit 100 times bigger? The answer is, you can’t because it will basically turn the dollar into something that is worthless,” he argued.
“Various countries have tried this experiment multiple times,” he said. “Have you seen Venezuela? Like the poor, poor people of Venezuela are, you know, have been just run roughshod by their government.”
