The mainstream media has taken a pass on reporting bombshell revelations contained in a court filing last week by Special Counsel John Durham indicating the 2016 presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton plotted to ensnare Donald Trump in a scandal.

However, a new poll finds that even Democratic voters increasingly want the former secretary of state probed.

According to the Daily Mail, a growing number of Democrats think Clinton should be questioned by Durham over her alleged role in ordering her campaign to hire a firm to “infiltrate” servers at Trump Tower and later the White House in an attempt to create a false ‘Russian collusion’ narrative.

In a January survey, 66 percent of Democratic respondents agreed that Clinton should be questioned, up an astounding 22 percent over the number of Democrats who wanted her questioned in a similar survey in October, the TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics (TIPP) research poll noted.

At the same time, and more understandably, the number of Republicans is also growing, rising to 91 percent in January from 80 percent in October. Importantly, 74 percent of Independents said so as well, up from 65 percent last fall.

The Daily Mail adds:

Both polls were completed before Special Counsel John Durham last week released a bombshell report that claimed Clinton’s campaign team tried to spy on former president Trump’s computer servers in a failed attempt to tie him to Russia.

The New Jersey-based polling company surveyed 1,308 Americans.

Results of the survey come on the heels of a court filing last week by Durham claiming that attorneys for the 2016 campaign of Clinton paid a technology company to “infiltrate” servers that were in Trump Tower, and after the election in the White House, in order to create an “inference” and “narrative” to link former Trump to Russia. The Daily Mail said “the aim was to try and smear Trump by linking him to Russia. Clinton’s campaign repeatedly accused Trump of using a secret server to communicate with Russians, although the claim has never been proven.”

Durham filed a motion on Feb. 11 focused on potential conflicts of interest related to the representation of former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussman, who has been charged with making a false statement to a federal agent. Sussman has pleaded not guilty.

The indictment against Sussman says he told then-FBI General Counsel James Baker in September 2016, less than two months before the 2016 presidential election, that he was not doing work “for any client” when he requested and held a meeting in which he presented “purported data and ‘white papers’ that allegedly demonstrated a covert communications channel” between the Trump Organization and Alfa Bank, which has ties to the Kremlin.

Trump has responded to Durham’s filings and the allegations regarding Clinton.

“The latest pleading from Special Counsel Robert Durham provides indisputable evidence that my campaign and presidency were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton Campaign in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia,” he said in a statement.

“This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution. In a stronger period of time in our country, this crime would have been punishable by death. In addition, reparations should be paid to those in our country who have been damaged by this,” he added.

“What Hillary Clinton and the Radical Left Democrats did with respect to spying on a President of the United States, even while in office, is a far bigger crime than Watergate. It will be interesting to see how it was covered by the media and what Mitch McConnell and the RINOs will be doing about it. This is an insult to the Republican Party, but a far greater insult to our Nation,” he noted in a follow-up statement.
