Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody has called out President Joe Biden and his beleaguered Homeland Security secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, accusing them of being dishonest about immigration and border enforcement policies.

In an interview with Fox News, Moody said she has proof that Mayorkas lied to Congress about the disastrous results of his border policies while also claiming that Biden is aware of it.

She accused the president of “unconscionable cover-up” of immigration and border policies, adding that documents she obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request indicate that Biden understands his reckless policies are enriching cartels and failing the homeland.

“Mayorkas testified under oath to Congress, and I showed last week that that was a lie when he said the policies were not affecting this historic illegal immigration into our country,” she said.

“And now we have uncovered through Florida’s litigation that not only does Biden understand that the transnational criminal organizations are facilitating, organizing and profiting millions from the illegal immigration into our country,” Moody, a Republican, added.

“They also understand with the cancelation of Title 42, – and this is, in CBP’s words – ‘there will be significant safety implications,’” she said.

“We have lawyers right now in court arguing for safety purposes,” Moody continued before mocking Biden’s “Disinformation Czar” Nina Jankowicz.

“Now you’ve brought in someone with a ‘spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down’ on the American public,” she said.

“It should be no surprise that the Biden administration has seen the results of their disastrous actions and are trying to cover it up with a disinformation board—led by ‘Mary Poppins’ and her ‘spoon full of sugar’ to obfuscate their dangerous dereliction of duty,” Moody noted in a Twitter post containing a video of her interview.

Regarding Title 42, a federal judge is expected to rule any time in a lawsuit involving some two dozen GOP attorneys general, including Moody, who are attempting to bar the Biden administration from ending the rule.

Judge Robert Summerhays of the Western District of Louisiana heard arguments Friday about the request for a preliminary injunction on the Biden administration’s plan to end Title 42 May 23.

The public health order, enacted in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has been used by both the Trump and Biden administrations to expel a majority of migrants at the southern border.

Republicans and some Democrats have warned that the already massive numbers of migrants being encountered at the border could surge if the order is lifted. It will also lead to significantly more migrants being released into the country, they say. The Department of Homeland Security has acknowledged this possibility, saying it is preparing for up to 18,000 migrants a day once the order drops.

The suit, which is led by Arizona, Missouri, and Louisiana, claims that the decision by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to lift the order is a violation of the Administrative Procedures Act. That law requires a notice-and-commentary period while also banning moves that are seen as “arbitrary and capricious.”

“The lawsuit claims the administration failed to estimate or account for the costs to the states,” Fox News noted further.

“They cite ‘increased health care costs for aliens infected with COVID-19 and the cost of increased illegal immigration caused by the Termination Order and the presence of much greater numbers of paroled aliens with non-meritorious asylum claims who were induced to enter the United States because of the Termination Order,'” the report continued.

The complaint notes: “This suit challenges an imminent, man-made, self-inflicted calamity: the abrupt elimination of the only safety valve preventing this administration’s disastrous border policies from devolving into an unmitigated catastrophe.”
