Kamala Harris has become the most unpopular vice president since at least the 1970s.

A new survey reveals that several Democrat strategists are alarmed at Harris’ sinking poll numbers and are questioning whether she would actually harm the party in the 2022 midterm elections.

“Democratic Party power players also use the same words every day — spend, tax the rich, forgive student loan debt, companies and/or Putin are to blame for inflation — but the hopes of a win are dimming. The midterm elections loom, and voters battered by inflation, fed up with Washington brawls over spending bills, and unease over border security and immigration policy are expected to show their displeasure with Biden and Co. at the ballot box,” the Boston Herald reported.

“President Biden’s how-low-can-you-go approval rating of 39% would seem to offer a clue,” the report continued.

“The idea that spiking the tax on corporations would fund climate change investments and other top agenda items, with higher taxes on wealthy individuals also contributing to a government fiscal windfall has come up short with those who’ve crunched the numbers. Even the most draconian tax grabs couldn’t fund all of the Democratic spending sprees,” it added.

With Harris being so unpopular, strategists worry that she won’t be able to help Democrats on the campaign trail next November.

“Two recent polls both showed 46 percent of Americans approved of Harris, with 47 percent and 48 percent disapproving. One of the most concerning elements for the White House is Harris’s unpopularity among young people,” the report found.

“An Economist/YouGov poll found 41 percent of voters aged 18-29 had an unfavorable view of Ms. Harris, with only 36 percent viewing her favorably. Harris is also struggling with Hispanic voters, possibly due to her role in leading US border policy. Of the 48 percent in the Economist/YouGov poll who viewed the vice president unfavorably, the vast majority [40 percent] said they did so very unfavorably,” it added.

It appears that the only people more terrified than Republicans about the prospect of Harris becoming president are the people that work for her.

“It’s a nightmare scenario for some former Harris staffers who watched nervously as their former boss ascended the national political stage,” a recent report said.

“Many of them remain loyal Democrats and fans of Biden, but they didn’t want to see a boss with whom they’d had a bad experience become the Democratic Party’s standard-bearer. Biden, at 78, was already the oldest person to assume the US presidency. He’ll be a few weeks shy of his 82nd birthday on Election Day 2024, and there’s already speculation six months into his term over whether he’ll run for reelection,” it said.

The outlet interviewed a dozen former Harris staffers from various points in her political career, nearly all of whom “spoke on condition of anonymity to protect professional relationships, adding that Harris’ job trajectory means it’s well within reason she could become the most powerful person on the planet.”

That’s a terrifying prospect for ex-aides who recall a “toxic” and “reactionary” workplace infused with “a sense of paranoia in that office that you never knew when she was going to snap at you.”

One former staffer who had mostly positive things to say about Harris conceded that her staffers were often “so stressed out that they were making themselves sick. Is that toxic? I don’t know.”

Of course, this comes after a report last month in which staffers described an abusive environment in Harris’ office.

“People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment,” a person that Politico claims knows how her office works, said. “It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like sh*t.

The report said that members of Joe Biden’s staff have noticed and are concerned about how members of Harris’ team are treated.

Some say that some staffers are looking for other jobs and others have already quit.
