Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who ran for her party’s presidential nomination in 2020, continued her criticism of the man who defeated her and all other comers this week after Joe Biden gave a highly divisive voting reform speech.
In a video posted to her Twitter account Friday, Gabbard accused Biden of being “until to lead” and said that he is failing in his pledge to unite the country.
“Biden promised to unite our country. Instead he betrayed us, pouring fuel on the fire of divisiveness, tearing our country apart. Biden compares those who disagree with him to racists, traitors & enemies, & has his AG target Americans as domestic terrorists. Unfit to lead,” she wrote in a post containing the video.
“I supported Joe Biden, and millions of other Americans voted for Joe Biden because he promised to unite us,” Gabbard said in the video. “He promised to bring us together, to end the divisiveness. Sadly, not only has he failed to do this, he has betrayed us all by pouring fuel on the fires of divisiveness that are tearing our country apart.”

Gabbard’s video contained a clip of Matthew Olsen, assistant attorney general for the National Security Division, who claimed during recent Senate testimony: “We face an elevated threat from domestic violent extremists, that is, individuals in the United States who seek to commit violent criminal acts in furtherance of domestic social or political goals.
“Domestic violent extremists are often motivated by a mix of ideologies and personal grievances. We have seen a growing threat from those who are motivated by racial animus as well as those who ascribe to extremist anti-government and anti-authority ideologies,” he added.
Following Olsen’s claims, Gabbard, who is an officer in the Army National Guard, observed: “If we allow this to continue, our country, our country, the country that we love, the land of the free, the home of the brave, it’ll be unrecognizable, and it will be lost forever.”
Earlier, she ripped Biden for a speech panned as controversial and anti-American.
“I will defend the right to vote, our democracy against all enemies — foreign and, yes, domestic. … At consequential moments in history, they present a choice: Do you want to be the on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis? This is the moment to decide to defend our elections, to defend our democracy,” Biden said.
“Hillary’s calling tens of millions of Americans deplorables was divisive & disgusting,” Gabbard said in response. “But Biden has gone further, calling those who disagree with his actions & policies domestic enemies, traitors, and racists. Biden promised to unite us, but he is doing all he can do divide us.”
Late last month, Gabbard demanded that Biden apologize to Americans for what he said about U.S. Border Patrol agents after he and other Democrats falsely claimed that they whipped Haitian migrants.
“I consider Joe Biden a friend, but he’s absolutely wrong. And he needs to apologize to the American people for saying what he said. And here’s why, you know: He’s somebody who’s been very outspoken as being against autocrats, autocracies, dictators, but what he essentially did was act as judge, jury, and executioner for these Customs and Border Patrol agents on horseback,” she told Fox News host Jesse Watters.
“How can they expect to have any kind of fair outcome to an investigation when the President of the United States has already declared their guilt and that they will be punished?” she added.
