Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz wasted little time on Wednesday tearing into FBI Director Chris Wray during his hearing before the House Judiciary Committee.

Wray faced questions about the alleged two-tiered justice system in America and the weaponization of federal law enforcement against conservatives. Gaetz began questioning with an allegation that Hunter Biden had sent a WhatsApp message threatening his father and demanding money from a Chinese business contact.

“Sounds like a shakedown, doesn’t it, Director?” Gaetz asked.

“I’m not going to get into commenting on that,” Wray replied, which prompted Gaetz to comment “You seem deeply uncurious about it, don’t you? Almost suspiciously uncurious. Are you protecting the Bidens?”

“Absolutely not,” Wray said, and Gaetz cut him off again to say, “You won’t answer the question about whether or not that’s a shakedown, and everybody knows why you won’t answer it. Because to the millions of people who will see this, they know it is, and your inability to acknowledge that is deeply revealing about you.”

Gaetz also cast perjury accusations at Wray before proclaiming “The FBI has broken so bad that people can go and engage in queries that when you come before the Congress to answer questions, you’re, like, you’re blissfully ignorant” about the FBI supposedly “using the FISA process as their creepy personal snoop machine.”

“You preside over the FBI that has the lowest level of trust in the FBI’s history. People trusted the FBI more when J. Edgar Hoover was running the place than when you are, and the reason is because you don’t give straight answers. You give answers that later a court deems aren’t true and then at the end of the day, you won’t criticize an obvious shakedown when it is directly in front of us, and it appears you’re whitewashing the conduct of corrupt people,” Gaetz declared.

Fox News reported Monday that “nearly a dozen current and former officials serving in the White House and Biden administration, including the president’s national security adviser and the secretary of state, have extensive ties to Hunter Biden, who is accused by Republicans of selling access to his father, dating back over a decade.”

According to a recent analysis by Fox News Digital, the potential influence of Hunter Biden within the White House is coming to light as the first son, who has been facing numerous challenges, is slated to make his initial court appearance on July 26. He is facing allegations of two misdemeanor tax violations and a felony gun charge.

Hunter Biden and Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s national security adviser, were both affiliated with the Truman National Security Project, a liberal foreign policy think tank, for approximately two years. Their association ended when Sullivan joined the president’s campaign in 2020, Fox News noted.

They both served on the board of the Washington-based nonprofit during the period 2017 to early 2019. Hunter began his tenure on the board in 2012.

Simultaneously, Hunter held positions on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company, and BHR Partners, a Chinese private equity fund. An ongoing federal investigation into Hunter’s foreign business activities was initiated in 2018, coinciding with the timeline.

Former White House official Mike McCormick recently leveled accusations against Sullivan, claiming that he was a “conspirator” involved in a purported “kickback scheme” within the Biden family concerning Ukraine during Joe Biden’s vice presidency, Fox reported.

Sullivan has denied the allegations.

According to emails reviewed and verified by the outlet, Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Hunter Biden at the State Department in July 2015. At that time, Blinken served as the deputy secretary of state in the Obama-Biden administration, while Hunter was a member of Burisma’s board.

Hunter emailed Blinken in late May 2015, asking: “Have a few minutes next week to grab a cup of coffee? I know you are impossibly busy, but would like to get your advice on a couple of things.” The meeting took place within a couple of months.

Blinken responded, “Absolutely,” and Hunter then forwarded Blinken’s complete email response to Devon Archer, another member of Burisma’s board and his business partner.

However, the initial meeting was ultimately canceled because Hunter’s older brother, Beau Biden, was being admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland due to a recurrence of brain cancer. Beau succumbed to the disease on May 30, 2015.

Less than two months later, Blinken and Hunter did meet, which then prompted Blinken to send a follow-up email saying it was “great to see” Hunter and “catch up.”
