Democratic lawmakers, media outlets, and prominent left-wing figures are under fire this week for using an old — and false — image to attack President Donald Trump.
The photo that went viral on Twitter shows the lights off both inside and outside of the White House.
Liberals claimed the image was from Sunday night when the riots were taking place in Washington, D.C., as well as outside of the White House.
Liberals used the image to claim that Trump was a failed leader who hid in the White House and turned the lights out like a coward.
Here’s the kicker: the viral image is from 2015 when former President Barack Obama was in office.
Twice failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton disgraced herself by sharing the image to her millions of Twitter followers, claiming Trump was hiding and scared to take action.
“Elections matter,” Clinton said in a Monday tweet. The tweet also showed the White House illuminated in rainbow colors after a 2015 Supreme Court decision that legalized same-sex marriage alongside an image of the White House with no exterior lights on.

As noted by The Federalist, the image was taken when Obama was in office:
There is just one problem: the photo was not from last Sunday. In fact, it was not from the Trump administration at all, but rather a stock photo from 2015.
It was uploaded to Getty Images, a stock photo compilation site, in December of 2015, but has been passed off to be a photo taken during the rioting.
The stock photo was edited further to increasingly darken the image for the greatest possible dramatic effect, and “manipulated to remove the lit lantern,” an AP Fact Check reports.
Furthermore, the lights at the White House go off every night at 11:00 p.m., not just during riots or protests.
This is the very definition of fake news and why Trump calls the media the “enemy of the people.”
This was such an egregious lie that even the left-leaning Associated Press published a fact-check saying the image was from 2015 when Obama was in office.
Here’s the fact-check from the AP:
CLAIM: Photo shows all the exterior and interior lights out at the White House on Sunday night, as President Donald Trump hid in a bunker.
AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. The original photo was posted to a stock image site in 2015, before Trump took office.
THE FACTS: An image shared thousands of times online that appears to show all the lights out in and around the White House was taken before Trump even assumed office.
Associated Press photographs taken Sunday night show the front of the White House illuminated by exterior lights and the portico lantern turned on, but the mansion’s interior is dark.
The Trump administration has taken several actions in recent days to seek justice in the death of George Floyd while maintaining order as riots ensue across the country.
Attorney General Bill Barr announced the U.S. would be using the Anti-Riot Act, a 1968 law that states those convicted under its provisions can face a punishment of up to half a decade in prison.
Trump announced Sunday that the U.S. government will designate the far-left group Antifa as a terrorist organization.
Antifa is a violent group of hardcore leftists who many believe are behind efforts to wreak havoc in American cities right now.
