Former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democrat nominee for president, has made a habit of humiliating himself on the campaign trail.
But this week a video resurfaced that humiliated Biden. A video in which he claimed that he had gotten his started at the historically black Delaware State University.
“I got started out of an HBCU, Delaware State — now, I don’t want to hear anything negative about Delaware State,” the former vice president said to the crowd. “They’re my folks.”
It was such a pandering, ridiculous lie that it is an insult to the intelligence of black voters for him to believe that they would believe him.
Then, at a racial equity discussion held on September 23, the former vice president appeared to make the same erroneous claim.

“My first question, you sort of spoke about education. And for me, I’m the only person in my family to go to an HBCU. And you, right down the street from Johnson C. Smith, North Carolina is known for having a lot of HBCUs. My question would be, there’s a lot that’s not properly funding, sort of going under, so what would you sort of like to see, or what could you do for the historically black colleges and universities?” a man named Chris Paul said.
“I was saying as long as I can say what the best HBCU is in America, Delaware State University. But that’s another issue. That’s a joke, but it’s not a joke. They’re great. That’s how I got my start, by the way,” he said, before correcting himself. “I went to University of Delaware. But the reason I got involved in politics in the first place is because of what was going on in my state in terms of segregation and in terms of Dr. King being assassinated. Part of the, major part of our city was burned to the ground. That’s how I got engaged. And a lot of my support came out of that HBCU.”
The director of news service for Delaware State, Carlos Holmes, said last week that “Vice President Biden did not attend DSU. However he was the Commencement keynote speaker in 2003 and , and during the former he was awarded an honorary doctoral degree.”
And this week there was another video that surfaced of Biden, this time not having anything to do with race but equally as cringe.
In the video he “allegedly” was joking when he said that he arrived in the Senate nearly two centuries ago, The New York Post reported.
In what was either a flat-falling joke or a flub, Joe Biden said on live television Saturday that he started his Senate career “180 years ago.”
The Democratic presidential contender and former vice president made the odd statement during a live address to the US Conference of Mayors that was being broadcast in real time on C-SPAN.
Biden began by praising mayors for taking care of Americans’ practical day-to-day needs, and for being on the front lines during fires, floods, health emergencies and school shootings.
“That’s why I’ve made it a priority my entire career to work closely with you,” the former vice president said. “from the time I got to the Senate 180 years ago,”
“You know?” he said. “As well as my tenure as vice president.”
Was he joking? Who knows? This is a man who has made so many “flubs” that the media gives him a pass on that it has become tough to count.
