First son Hunter Biden has asked a judge to disallow his estranged four-year-old daughter who was born after an affair he had with a stripper from taking his last name, claiming that if she did, she would be denied a “peaceful existence.”

The request was filed with the court on Jan. 6, according to reports, just a few weeks after the mother, Lunden Roberts, filed a petition to change the surname of the child, who currently goes by Navy Joan Roberts.

Lunden, 31, who is raising the couple’s daughter in Arkansas, filed her petition in December amid a continuing paternity lawsuit over child support payments that had been adjusted due to Biden’s “financial circumstances,” which he said had undergone “substantial, material change.”

Though Biden claims the name change would harm the couple’s daughter, her mother argued that it would actually be beneficial to her because it is “now synonymous with being well educated, successful, financially acute and politically powerful.”

No one in the Biden family, including Hunter himself, has ever met Navy, who was born in August 2018. Lunden was a stripper at a club that Hunter Biden frequented, the Daily Mail reported, adding:

In the filing last month, it was stated that Navy remains ‘estranged’ from the Biden family and suggests that this ‘misconduct or neglect’ can be rectified by giving her the Biden name.

But Hunter Biden, who is at the center of a federal probe for his foreign business deals, is now fighting the petition, arguing that the name would not do any favors for the child.

Hunter’s lawyer filed the motion earlier this month asking the judge to deny Roberts’ request, arguing that the child should decide for herself once ‘the disparagement of the Biden name is not at its height.’ Hunter claimed that Roberts’ motivation is now ‘political warfare’ against the Bidens, and that it reverses her efforts in late 2019 to redact their daughter’s name and any other identifying information about her from the public court record.

In a Dec. 27 filing, Roberts asked Circuit Court Judge Holly Meyer to let her daughter take Biden’s last name, noting that Navy is “estranged” from the first family and suggesting that this “misconduct or neglect” can by fixed by giving her the Biden name.

“To the extent, this is misconduct or neglect, it can be rectified by changing her last name to Biden so that she may undeniably be known to the world as the child of the defendant and member of the prestigious Biden family,” said the filing.

Navy, who resembles a young Hunter, does not have Secret Service protection like the rest of the family. Also, she is the fourth of five children Hunter Biden has fathered. Navy was conceived when Hunter Biden was still in a romantic relationship with his late brother Beau Biden’s widow, Hallie Biden.

Initially, Hunter Biden denied that Navy was his child, but a DNA test in 2019 confirmed he was the father. He settled with Lunden for $2.5 million in a paternity lawsuit after Navy’s birth; Hunter still provides monthly child support and pays for the child’s healthcare.

In a column published on his blog site, Georgetown University law school Prof. Jonathan Turley ripped the Biden family for their refusal to acknowledge Navy, as well as Hunter Biden’s bid to deny her his last name.

“In an astonishing filing this week, Hunter Biden answered that question for his four-year-old daughter Navy Joan and effectively declared ‘you are no Biden,'” Turley wrote.

“Hunter Biden’s disgraceful treatment of his daughter has long been on display in Arkansas where he long denied being her father, fought paternity, and was threatened with contempt of court over his failure to supply needed documents,” the professor continued.

“Of course, Biden did not feel that way with his other four children. They are all true Bidens and living peaceful existences. It is only Navy Joan who he does not want to bear the family name,” he added.

“His attacks on his former sister-in-law, Hallie Biden, widow of the deceased brother (with whom Hunter later had a romantic relationship), were appalling. However, the craven effort to deny this child his name reaches a level of cad that stands unrivaled.”
