House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff led the Democrats impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, and it has completely imploded in recent weeks.
Every time Democrats release new information or issue more ludicrous demands, it further proves they have no case at all.
But Schiff was hit with some devastating news when a star witness in his impeachment inquiry against Trump expressed skepticism about information collected by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele.
Fiona Hill, who served as the White House’s top adviser on Russia until July, expressed serious concerns about Steele’s dossier during her testimony.
Hill told lawmakers that Steele was desperate to “drum up business” and obtain work, which made him vulnerable to be misled by his Russian sources.
Upon reading the report, Hill said she was concerned that “Steele could have been played.”
She also speculated that the Russians’ move to feed material to Steele was motivated more by revenge than by an interest in helping out Trump.
“Because if you also think about it, the Russians would have an ax to grind against Steele given the job that he had previously,” she said. “And if he started going back through his old contacts and asking about, that would be a perfect opportunity for people to feed some kind of misinformation.”
Hill even testified that she had first-person knowledge of Steele’s desperation, noting that he “was clearly very interested in building up a client base” when the two met in 2016.
“And this is why I was concerned about the Steele report because that is a vulnerability,” Hill said. “Christopher Steele going out and looking for information. He’s obviously out there soliciting information. What a great opportunity to, basically, you know, present him with information that he’s looking for that can be couched some truth and some disinformation.”
Hill’s testimony only adds to the already substantial amount of evidence discrediting the dossier.
The FISA warrants are interconnected with the dossier and the entire spy operation against Trump, which kicked off the Russia witch hunt.
From late 2015 to early 2016, Fusion GPS hired Steele to compile the dossier.
As the 2016 presidential election was ramping up, Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee paid Fusion GPS roughly $9 million to fund Steele’s anti-Trump operation.
The FBI and the Department of Justice used the Clinton-DNC funded dossier to launch the Russia investigation against Trump in mid-2016.
This also paved the way for the appointment of Robert Mueller as the special counsel.
The allegations are that Clinton’s campaign, the DNC, Steele, and Perkins Coie conspired together to fund an operation to take down Trump from becoming the president of the United States.
Clinton’s cabal then fed the dossier to her contacts at the DOJ and FBI, who then used it as the basis to launch the Russia investigation.
After more than two years of investigating, Mueller ended his Russia probe declaring there’s no evidence of collusion or obstruction of justice.
Many have argued that this clandestine operation, led by Clinton and her allies, triggered one of the largest witch hunts ever against a sitting president.
Here’s the cherry on top: Schiff called in Hill to give him ammunition to impeach Trump over his Ukraine phone call.
But instead, she didn’t deliver anything bad about Trump and instead destroyed the bogus dossier.
