Ivanka Trump has officially switched parties.
In what has been a remarkable 180-degree political transformation from when she was a Democratic donor years ago, her status as a “card-carrying member of her father’s ‘Make America Great Again’ coalition is now complete,” writes Annie Karni and Maggie Haberman for the Times in an article.
Ivanka Trump said she missed the deadline back in 2016 to change her information.
She told the Times that she decided to switch her voter registration to Republican from Democrat so she could vote for her father in New York’s GOP primary.
“I am a proud Trump Republican,” she told the outlet in a Monday interview. “I believe he’s broadened the reach of the Republican Party, which is really important to me.”
Describing her political shift, Trump said she wasn’t “going to speculate” on other people’s projections of her: “In areas outside of my portfolio, I tend to agree more with the more conservative viewpoint more often than where the Democrats are today. No one person or party has a monopoly on good ideas.”
Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, also recently registered as a Republican, telling reporters at a campaign briefing that he thinks the party “is growing now that people like me feel comfortable being part of it.”
Karni and Haberman report that the Democrats’ push for impeachment gradually led to a more “aggressive and raw” online persona for the first daughter.
Ivana Trump, former President Donald Trump’s ex-wife, tragically passed away on Thursday at the age of 73.
Ivanka Trump paid tribute to Ivana with a social media post, describing herself as “heartbroken” over her mother’s death.
“Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate, and wickedly funny. She lived life to the fullest — never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance,” Ivanka said.
“I will miss her forever,” Ivanka said, “and will keep her memory alive in our hearts always.”
President Trump announced Friday morning on Truth Social that his scheduled rally in Arizona would be postponed, writing: “Out of love and respect for Ivana, our big Arizona Rally will be postponed until next Friday.”
Law enforcement officials are reportedly investigating whether she tragically passed away after falling down the stairs of her home in New York City.
The Associated Press reported that law enforcement officials are looking into whether Ivana fell down the stairs because she was found unconscious near the bottom of the staircase in her home.
Officials believe that her death was an accident.
A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department told Fox News that police responded to a 911 call on Thursday and found the 73-year-old unconscious.
“On Thursday, July 14, 2022, at approximately 1240 hours, police responded to a 911 call of an aided individual at 10 East 64 Street, within the confines of the 19 Precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 73-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene,” the spokesperson said.

An NYPD spokesperson told Fox News Digital there is no criminality suspected and police are staging outside her Upper East Side home for security purposes. A spokesperson for the NYPD also told Fox News that Trump was found unconscious “in close proximity” to the bottom of a staircase in her apartment.
The New York City Fire Department responded to a report of a cardiac arrest at Trump’s residence on Thursday afternoon, a source told Fox News. A law enforcement source told Fox News that someone at Trump’s residence called police to ask for a wellness check because he hadn’t seen her in a while. When authorities arrived, they opened her door and found her at the bottom of the stairs, but it’s unclear whether she fell.

Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children grit and toughness, compassion, and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children, and ten grandchildren.”
Donald Trump took to Truth Social to share a statement about Ivana’s tragic death.
“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life,” he said. “Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”
Ivana Trump married Donald Trump in 1977 and the couple got divorced in 1992. Ivana is the mother of his three oldest children, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.
Eric Trump wrote in an Instagram post: “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman – a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be missed.”
