CNN anchor Jake Tapper finally got a look at what Americans think of President Joe Biden and his policies and he was stunned.

It happened when CNN correspondent David Chalian appeared on Tapper’s “State Of The Union” and showed President Biden’s poll numbers indicating that his numbers are far below former Presidents Obama and Donald Trump on having the “right priorities.”

“One way we look at that, Jake, we ask folks, do you believe Joe Biden has the right priorities? Okay, so right now, only 31 percent say yes. President Biden has the right priorities, 68 percent say no. This is up ten points since we scored this last year in the Biden presidency, “ the correspondent said.

“So now let’s take a look at how that 31 percent who say yes, he has the right priorities, stacks up against his modern era predecessors.

“Look at that. Not very well, 31 percent for Biden is clearly the low water mark of all Trump, Obama, Bush, and Clinton on this score,” he said.

” Shocking. David Chalian, thanks so much,” the host said.

“Numbers show many Americans share a somber outlook on the state of our nation,” he said before bringing on other panelists to talk about the president’s dismal ratings.

“I think Americans are losing faith and losing confidence on when this gets better, on when inflation gets better. We talk a lot about food inflation and gas inflation, because that’s a very important part of the story,” CNN business correspondent Rahel Solomon said.

“But inflation is spreading. We know that from the last CPI report. Shelter inflation, rent inflation increase, 0.8 percent in the month of June, and 5.8 percent on the year. That’s the fastest increase since 1986. So, it is perhaps understandably hard to feel great about the state of the economy when price pressures are so elevated. That said, the job market is very strong, 3.6 percent unemployment rate. There’s also strong demand for workers,” she said.

Washington Post correspondent Phillip Bump said that the president’s numbers could be a disaster for the Democrats in November.

“I mean, this is think for the Democratic Party, they see these numbers and they start to freak out a little bit, right?” he said.

“And totally justifiably, when we look at historically at the pattern between the presidential approval and how the president’s party does in the midterm elections, particularly in the first midterm of the presidency, there’s a strong connection there.

“And so, if Joe Biden is doing this badly, history suggests that the Democratic Party is going to do badly in November as well,” he said.

This month a new poll showed that not since Harry Truman has an active president had an approval rating in the 30s at this point in their term.

Back in 1946, Truman’s approval rating was a truly awful 33% back.

Now, Biden has the lowest approval rating of a sitting president in modern American history with the exception of Truman.

“Biden’s approval rating, which has dropped to 38.4 percent, is historically lower than any other modern-day president’s with the exception of Harry Truman’s in his second year in office. In 1946, Truman’s approval rating was 33 percent 18 months into his term,” Breitbart reported.

Biden’s approval rating 18 months into his presidency is worse than the following presidents’ at the same stage of their terms:

Donald Trump (42.1 percent)

Barack Obama (46.3 percent)

George W. Bush (66.9 percent)

Bill Clinton (46 percent)

George H.W. Bush (63.2 percent)

Ronald Reagan (44 percent)

According to a separate poll from Civiqs, Biden’s approval rating dropped to a historic low of 29 percent over the weekend.

“While it’s just one poll, though from a liberal outfit, the latest Civiqs approval rating for Biden is 29%, with 58% disapproving, by far the worst poll for the president,” the Washington Examiner reports.

Rumors are also flying that some of Biden’s allies have at least looked into the idea of replacing Vice President Kamala Harris.

In an explosive story last month from New York Magazine, titled, “There Has to Be a Backup Plan. There’s a Backup Plan, Right? Inside the 2024 soul-searching that’s happening in every corner of the Democratic Party,” author Gabriel Debenedetti discusses how Democrats are facing a reckoning.

Debenedetti notes how there seems to be a major divide between Biden and his allies on one side and Harris and her loyalists on the other.
