Fox News co-hosts Jesse Watters and Jessica Tarlov had another epic exchange during a segment on “The Five” on Wednesday over a surprise appearance at a House Oversight Committee hearing by first son Hunter Biden.
Last month, the committee sent Biden a lawful subpoena to appear earlier this month for a closed-door session that he summarily ignored, choosing instead to hold a press conference in Washington, D.C., where he took verbal potshots at Republicans on the panel.
On Wednesday, however, Hunter Biden showed up at the committee’s hearing to decide whether to proceed with contempt charges, which the panel voted to do later in the day.
Right before heading to break, Tarlov attempted to respond to co-host Dana Perino, who said that Republicans on the committee should have called Hunter’s “bluff” and brought him up to testify instead of continuing to insist on private testimony first.
“It was like watching The Real Housewives of the House of Representatives because obviously [Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jaime] Raskin [D-Md.] and the Democrats knew what was happening. I wonder what if the Republicans had said, ‘Fine, sit down,’” Perino told the panel.
“And said, ‘We’ll call a recess. We’ll be right back.’ Go get your ducks in a row and then come back. Like that would have been fascinating,” she added.
“And just hold up a bank record and said, well, okay, well where did this money come from,” Watters joked, as Tarlov attempted to get her two cents in.
“But Raskin –” Tarlov began as Watters cut her off, noting, “Jessica, we’ve heard quite enough. Quite enough.”
As the other co-hosts laughed, Tarlov stared into the camera, appearing annoyed, before Watters took the show to break.

Earlier in the segment, Tarlov accused Republicans on the panel of “embarrassing” themselves and “coming off completely unprepared” for Hunter’s appearance, which they obviously were not previously told about.
During Wednesday’s hearing, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) unloaded on Hunter Biden while he was in the gallery, addressing him directly and essentially calling him a coward for refusing to honor the subpoena like former President Donald Trump’s children did when the Democrat-controlled the House and subpoenaed them to provide testimony.
Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) began the hearing by outlining Republicans’ case to hold Hunter in contempt of Congress after he refused to honor a subpoena issued last month for closed-door testimony.
“Our investigation has produced significant evidence suggesting President Biden knew of, participated in, and benefited from his family cashing in on the Biden name,” Comer said.
“We planned to question Hunter Biden about this record of evidence during our deposition, but he blatantly defied two lawful subpoenas.”
Then Mace was recognized to speak and the hearing then went off the rails.
“My first question is, who bribed Hunter Biden to be here today? That’s my first question,” Mace began. “Second question, you are the epitome of white privilege coming into the oversight committee, spitting in our face, ignoring a congressional subpoena to be deposed. What are you afraid of? You have no balls to come up here.”
A Democratic lawmaker from off-camera then began interrupting, leading Comer to bang the gavel and call for order several times while Mace sparred with the Democrat.
“I think that Hunter Biden should be arrested right here, right now. Go straight to jail,” Mace finally continued. “Our nation is founded on the rule of law. The law applies equally to everyone, no matter what your last name.”
She added: “It does not matter who you are, where you come from, or who your father is, or your last name. Yes, I’m looking at you, Hunter Biden, as I’m speaking to you. You are not above the law at all.”
Mace asked the first son: “Why can’t you show up for a congressional deposition? You’re here for a political stunt. This is just a PR stunt to you. This is just a game that you are playing with the American people. You’re playing with the truth.”
