A growing number of Republicans have been pushing to impeach President Joe Biden and some members of his administration, an issue that House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) has addressed.

According to Punchbowl News earlier this month, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, a Kentucky Republican, was making efforts to obtain records from the FBI. Comer said he believes that the records could potentially shed light on allegations suggesting that Biden may have received bribes from a foreign national in exchange for exerting influence over policy decisions while he served as Vice President under the Obama administration.

Comer’s basis for this allegation stems from information provided by an anonymous whistleblower; three FBI whistleblowers testified before the Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

But despite increased calls to impeach, Jordan said the party’s move to impeach is currently working “to get the facts.”

“You think about [Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro] Mayorkas, he certainly warrants impeachment, but that’s a decision we have to make as a conference…And relative to the president, of course, that’s a decision that’s going to be made by the full Republican Conference and the speaker, and no one’s really focused on that now,” he told Punchbowl News in early May, according to Newsweek.

In April, Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett, a member of the House Oversight Committee, said that information brought by an IRS whistleblower who is seeking protection to testify, could bring Biden to impeachment.

“This is just the very tip of the iceberg. This very brave IRS agent coming forward, I think, will just start it,” he said to Fox News host Maria Bartiromo. “They’re talking about impeaching Biden. How could we not impeach Biden if this does, in fact, reach him?”

The representative also spoke about the letter signed by 51 former intelligence chiefs who said that the Hunter Biden laptop had the earmarks of Russian disinformation.

But former acting CIA Director Michael Morell testified to the House Judiciary Committee that he concocted the letter after speaking with the man who is now Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, because he wanted to Biden to win the 2020 election.

“If I was [among] those 51 people, I’d be lawyering up right now because they’re going to be asked in public at some point what they knew and if they knew that all this other stuff was going on because it is very damning,” the representative said.

“If this cover-up shows what’s going on, that we all assume is going on, and that the 51 folks were basically lied to and showed false documentation, how can you not [impeach Biden]?” Burchett said. “I mean, this is just going on too much.”

“Like I said, the documentation that I’ve seen, I can’t comment on all of it,” the representative said. “But what I can comment on is that it is bad, and it is getting worse, and it is showing illegal monies from Chinese communists flowing into this White House via Hunter Biden and his lawyers.”

“How could we not impeach Biden if this does, in fact, reach him?” he added.

Earlier this year, Jordan shared how he’s setting the pace this session of Congress to lead investigations into Hunter Biden, school board issues, Big Tech, and other critical matters.

“We’ve actually done several. I think maybe more than … I think the rest of the Congress combined,” said Jordan, who said he has sent a “final” batch of letters to U.S. intelligence veterans for a probe related to President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden is currently under investigation by federal prosecutors, including over his tax affairs and his foreign business dealings, the Washington Post noted.
