Justice Thomas Slams Leftists Protesters, Says Supreme Court Won’t ‘Be Bullied’

Justice Clarence Thomas says the Supreme Court will not “be bullied” by pro-abortion activists protesting the Court’s expected overturn of Roe v. Wade.

“We are becoming addicted to wanting particular outcomes, not living with the outcomes we don’t like,” Thomas said during a judicial conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

“We can’t be an institution that can be bullied into giving you just the outcomes you want,” he added. “The events from earlier this week are a symptom of that.”

“Thomas, one of the court’s most conservative members, spoke just hours after militant pro-choice activists doxxed him and five other Supreme Court justices over their reported plans to turn abortion law-making over to Congress and state legislatures,” the New York Post reported.

“The federal government erected 8-foot non-scalable fences around the courthouse this week, where angry protesters gathered Monday night after a draft opinion suggesting the imminent overturn of the landmark 1973 decision — which declared abortion to be a constitutionally protected right — was leaked to the media,” the report added.

The Post continued: “The unprecedented publication of Justice Samuel Alito’s draft majority opinion was “absolutely appalling,” Chief Justice John Roberts said Thursday — but it sparked activists to call for the storming of Catholic churches on Mother’s Day and to plan demonstrations outside the justices’ homes.”

According to federal U.S. code 1507, any individual who “pickets or parades” with the “intent of interfering with, obstructing, or impeding the administration of justice, or with the intent of influencing any judge, juror, witness, or court officer” near a U.S. court or “near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge, juror, witness, or court officer” will be fined, or “imprisoned not more than one year, or both.”

Liberals aren’t just protesting outside Justice’s homes, either.

An arsonist threw at least one Molotov cocktail into an office of Wisconsin Family Action, a pro-life activist group. Police are investigating the incident as being connected to the leaked draft opinion.

Last week, a draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito was leaked to Politico last week it set off a firestorm on social media.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts called the leak of a draft opinion “absolutely appalling” and announced an investigation to find the leaker.

Soon after Alito’s draft majority opinion leaked, it’s assumed there were at least 5 votes in favor of overturning Roe v Wade, leaving state legislators to weigh their own abortion policies.

More bluntly, if the Supreme Court does announce that Roe v Wade is overturned, each state will have to pass abortion laws and it’s likely many will enact very strict measures against the practice.

“The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right,” Politico reported.

“Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes.

“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” he writes in the document, labeled as the “Opinion of the Court.”

Alito adds: “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”

“We, therefore, hold the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion. Roe and Casey must be overruled, and the authority to regulate abortion must be returned to the people and their elected representatives,” Alito writes in the document, labeled the “Opinion of the Court.”
