Vice President Kamala Harris was roasted on social media after she tweeted the country was “moving again” as thousands of commuters were stuck on a snowy, ice-covered Virginia highway.
The conditions were bad on Interstate 95 in eastern Virginia after a severe winter storm left some motorists stranded on the highway for more than 24 hours.

Harris came under fire after she tweeted about how the Biden administration’s recently passed infrastructure package has America “moving again.”
“Because of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, America is moving again,” the vice president tweeted. “That’s what infrastructure is all about: getting people moving.”

The tweet resulted in many users reminding her that thousands of Americans were quite literally stuck and not “moving along.”
The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro tweeted, “Could you possibly be any more incompetent? It’s truly astonishing.”

Harris was roasted by many other conservative voices and Republican lawmakers for her politically inept response.

There's that impeccable political acumen and timing, from the candidate who dropped out before Iowa, we've all come to love and know. https://t.co/8QxQmCI8np

Not a yard of new track has been laid, not an inch of new road paved, and drivers were stuck on the highway in Virginia overnight. But… “America is moving!” Thanks to Infrastructure™! https://t.co/qXvjjOBvc9

Leftists tend to live detached from reality as they so often indicate, and they’ve done so again in recent days as they rushed to blame Virginia’s Glenn Youngkin for not reacting quickly enough to a snowstorm that stranded thousands of motorists on I-95 earlier this week.
There’s just one problem, though: Youngkin is not officially governor of the Old Dominion yet; Democrat Ralph Northam still is until this coming weekend.
PJ Media’s Cameron Arcand:
As Interstate 95 in Northern Virginia dealt with the traffic jam of the century, which left some drivers stuck on the road for over a day because of heavy snow, liberals on Twitter decided to blame Republican Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin as opposed to the person who is really in charge– Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam.
“Does Virginia’s new Governor Youngkin know people have been stranded on I-95 for 15 hours? With no help in sight?” one user, who later deleted her tweet, asked.
Youngkin is going to be sworn in next Saturday, so this has nothing to do with him. But the tweets somehow go downhill from here.
Meanwhile, South Florida Sun-Sentinel columnist Fred Grimm responded to investigative journalist Jim DeFede’s tweet about the situation on Tuesday morning, with another incorrect take.
“Collateral damage between Glenn Youngkin and the wrath of God,” he tweeted.

Others also chimed in to blame Youngkin, falsely, for ‘failing as governor’ — though again, none of them bothered to explain how any governor, right or left, is supposed to interdict a snowstorm or wave a wand to magically make snow and ice disappear.
@GlennYoungkin Virginia governor are you safe and warm?

So, where’s Republican Gov Youngkin in this I-95 mega-disaster???? 48 mile shutdown for hours & hours in VA & he’s nowhere to be found. This never happened under Dem Gov Northam—or any other Gov for that matter!!!!! Shame!
— Scott D. Rhodes (@ScottdrhodesD) January 4, 2022
Others, including The Hill columnist and Fox News contributor Joe Concha, reminded Twitter users who really is still governor.
In a related story, Ralph Northam (D) is still Governor of Virginia. https://t.co/ZtC4vDjLuH

Youngkin hasn’t even been sworn in, yet.
Democrat Ralph Northam is the current governor.

— Joe Pilot, MD (@JoeSilverman7) January 4, 2022
He’s not governor yet. He does not take office until Jan 15.
The CURRENT governor is Democrat Ralph Northam.
So, yes, this happened under Dem. Ralph Northam.

LOL ! “On Saturday, January 15, 2022, Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin will be sworn in along with Lieutenant Governor-elect Winsome Sears…… “
— Justplainbob (@Justplainbob1) January 4, 2022
Typical… right down to the “Republicans” like Jonah Goldberg blaming Youngkin rather than the DemoKKKrat governor who’s in until Jan. 15.

Eventually, Northam spoke about the mess on I-95, nothing that it was essentially an act of nature and that no one is ‘responsible’ but that things were getting done as fast as humanly possible with, oddly enough, an assist from “the weather.”
