It is starting to appear near certain that House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s time as Speaker is coming to an end.
In one key house race in New York Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis is ahead of the Democrat challenger, former Rep. Max Rose, by six points, Breitbart News reported.
It is a rematch from the 2020 election where Rep. Malliotakis defeated Rose.
The Spectrum News/Siena College poll revealed that 49 percent of the 451 likely voters would support Malliotakis, while 43 percent said they would support Rose.
As the congresswoman is hoping for a second term, she also had a significant lead with independents. The poll found that 62 percent of independents backed the Republican, while only 25 percent of the independents supported the Democrat.
Additionally, while a majority found President Joe Biden to be unfavorable (58 percent), some Democrats said they would also cross party lines and vote for Malliotakis. However, 74 percent still said they would vote for Rose.
Democrats may have thought that abortion would be a major issue in the race but the poll showed that the economy was paramount on the minds of voters with 65 percent saying that was a major issue, and rising crime came in at 42 percent. Only 16 percent had abortion as a major concern.
This year a video emerged of the Democrat candidate tearing into the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and their assistance to his campaign.
“Now, when it comes to national Democrats, they’re not going to win this race either. They can only lose it. Time and again, they come into this race with their high-powered consultants and absolutely no knowledge of what’s going on,” he said.
New York is generally a place where Democrats win but they have had more tough news from the state.
A new poll showed that Republican Michael Henry has a lead on Democrat state Attorney General Letitia James, Breitbart News reported.
Of the 1087 likely general election voters, 45.4 percent said they would back Henry, while only 44.4 percent would reelect James. Another 10.2 percent are still undecided.
The Trafalgar Group poll sampled likely general election voters from September 30 to October 3, with a 2.9 percent margin of error and a 95 percent confidence level.
The poll sampled more Democrats than Republicans and independents. There was 53.6 percent party participation in the survey from the 1,087 likely general election voters, only 27.5 percent from the Republicans, and 18.9 percent identified as “non-partisan” or “other.”
And the poll was taken after James announced that she was suing the former president and members of his family.
Prior to her press conference reporter Kyle Cheney tweeted what her announcement was.
“The NY AG is suing Trump and two of his kids, alleging a massive campaign of fraudulent business practices by the Trump Org. She’s also urging federal prosecutors and the IRS to pursue criminal probes,” he said.
“The wide-ranging lawsuit alleges decades of deception and relies on a statute for repeat violations of law. The suit stems from a 3.5 year investigation that began with Michael Cohen’s testimony to Congress alleging Trump inflated value of assets to win favorable financial deals,” he said.

The lawsuit seeks a minimum of $250 million in damages.
It said that Trump’s personal financial statements “for the period 2011 through 2021 were fraudulent and misleading in both their composition and presentation.”
″The number of grossly inflated asset values is staggering, affecting most if not all of the real estate holdings in any given year. All told, Mr. Trump, the Trump Organization, and the other Defendants, as part of a repeated pattern and common scheme, derived more than 200 false and misleading valuations of assets included in the 11 Statements covering 2011 through 2021.”
She had previously indicated that she could sue former President Donald Trump after rejecting an offer to resolve the civil investigation into his family business last week, The Washington Examiner reported.
“The Trump Organization has sought to reach a deal with James’s office for months after the office told a court in January it had uncovered evidence the company used “fraudulent or misleading” asset valuations to secure loans and other tax benefits. James has been leading the investigation for three years,” the report said.
