Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who was acquitted of murder charges in the deaths of two men during the Kenosha, Wisconsin riots, is furious with President Joe Biden.
The 19-year-old appeared on “The Jenna Ellis Show” podcast Tuesday and talked about why he is still enraged at the president and the media and explained what his life is like now.
“I’ve been all right, but it’s been a little difficult ‘cause with all the false narratives that were put out, where people called me a white supremacist, a murderer and racist, and all those other lies, I don’t know if somebody’s seen one of those articles or watched one of those news stories,” he said.
He said he is still frightened to shop or walk his dog because he believes he could be attacked or harassed because of the “false lies that were put out.”
Ellis asked the teenager what he wanted people to know about the shootings that happened in August of 2020 that killed Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounded Gaige Grosskreutz.
“I was attacked,” he said. “I was 17 years old. I was attacked and had to defend myself. I’m not a racist. I’m not a white supremacist. I’m not a domestic terrorist. I’m not a murderer, and anybody who wants to sit down and have a conversation, I’m more than open.”
One of the people he said he wants to talk to is President Biden, who he said he wants to sue for insinuating that he was a white supremacist.
“I reached out to Joe Biden several times — crickets, nothing,” he said. “He still hasn’t replied. So it just shows how much of a man he is to not sit down and talk.”
The president said he was “angry and concerned” after Rittenhouse was acquitted bu that he would stand with the jury’s decision in the case.
“I ran on a promise to bring Americans together because I believe that what unites us is far greater than what divides us,” Biden said following the verdict last November.
“I believe everybody deserves a second chance, just how the Lord gives us second, third, fourth, fifth chances,” the teenager said. “I believe we need fair representation — because I’ve experienced bad representation. I believe we need good attorneys out there that are willing to put up the tough fight, are willing to walk into the courtroom against a prosecutor, are willing to stand up for the Constitution and defend their client and just be a successful person.”
But Rittenhouse has said before that he wants to talk to the president.
In December the teenager said he was willing to meet with the president to discuss any misconceptions he has about him after his highly publicized trial.
He spoke during an interview with Steven Crowder on his show “Louder with Crowder” he issued the challenge to Biden.
“Mr. President, I hope you see this. … I’d have a sit-down and I’ll explain the facts to you so you can understand them,” he said.
“If he reached out, I’d be happy to tell him my side of the story of what happened,” he said.
And that was not the first time that Rittenhouse has challenged the president to sit down with him to discuss the details of the case.
During an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, he said that Biden should educate himself on the facts of the case before offering his opinion on it.
“Mr. President, if I could say one thing to you, I would urge you to go back and watch the trial and understand the facts before you make a statement,” he said. “It’s actual malice, defaming my character, for him to say something like that.”
“It is actually quite hysterical how nobody can go back and look at the facts of the case,” he said.
