Lefty co-host Jessica Tarlov of Fox News’ popular “The Five” program has been slapped with a defamation lawsuit by a major fact witness in Republicans’ ongoing impeachment investigation into President Joe Biden.

Tony Bobulinski, who was once a business partner with Hunter Biden and who has testified under oath that Joe Biden was not only part of several deals with foreign companies, including some in China and Russia, but also profited from such deals, claimed in his suit that Tarlov and his reputation irreparably harmed defamed him.

Last week, during a program segment, Tarlov falsely claimed that a pro-Trump super PAC covered Bobulinski’s legal expenses.

“Tony Bobulinski’s lawyers’ fees have been paid by a Trump super PAC,” she said. “That’s as recent as January. Do you think that a guy who’s invested in how much better off he wants the United States to be and really getting to the bottom of this would be taking money from the guy who extorted the Ukrainians to get dirt on the Bidens?”

Bobulinski, who appeared before a House committee last week, vehemently denied Tarlov’s claim and said he has funded his own legal expenses, which have amounted to more than $500,000 so far.

The following day, Tarlov said on-air: “I would like to clarify a comment I made yesterday during our discussion of Tony Bobulinski’s appearance at the congressional hearing. During an exchange with my colleagues about the hearing, I said that Mr. Bobulinski’s lawyer’s fees have been paid for by a Trump Super PAC as recently as January.”

She added: “What was actually said at the hearing was that the law firm representing Mr. Bobulinski was paid by a Trump PAC. I have seen no indication that those payments were made in connection to Mr. Bobulinski’s legal fees, and he denies that they were.”

Now, in his suit, Bobulinski slammed Tarlov for her refusal to “apologize and sincerely correct the record,” adding he wanted to “hold her accountable in a court of law.”

Bobulinski has alleged that Tarlov’s public comments amount to defamation, resulting in harm to his character and standing. He is seeking compensatory, special, and punitive damages.

“This is not about money,” Bobulinski said. “This is about the truth, for which I have been fighting for four years.”

He added in a statement posted to the X platform:

It is important for media personalities like Ms. Tarlov to understand that lies have consequences. I have consistently told the truth to the American people about the deep corruption of the Biden family and will continue to do, and I have paid my legal expenses arising from my decision to come forward out of my own pocket. I will donate every penny I may be awarded in this suit to a children’s hospital and to support our military Veterans. Ms. Tarlov refused to apologize and sincerely correct the record. I look forward to holding her accountable in a court of law and to continuing to bring the truth to the American people.

Last Friday, the controversy escalated when Bobulinski’s attorneys demanded that Tarlov publicly retract her statements and issue an apology. The demand stated that the apology should be made at the beginning of “The Five” and should explicitly acknowledge the falsehood of her previous statements.

In a previous letter, Bobulinski’s attorneys stated that Tarlov’s remarks were both inaccurate and defamatory and had caused undue damage to Bobulinski’s reputation.

The lawyers argued that Tarlov’s subsequent “clarification” did little to correct the situation, accusing her of not taking the serious implications of her allegations seriously.
