President Joe Biden’s top medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci is sticking his nose in politics after vowing that he had no interest in getting involved.

He gave the keynote address on Friday at the City College of New York commencement ceremony in Harlem when he took a veiled swipe at former President Donald Trump and other Republicans, The New York Post reported.

“It is blatantly obvious that we are experiencing a deepening divisiveness in our nation, fed by a flagrant devaluation of the truth,” he said to the graduating students.

“While genuine differences of opinion or ideology are part of a healthy society, increasingly we are hearing, reading and seeing outlandish statements and pronouncements propped up by deliberate distortions of reality,” he said as he continued his tirade.

“Fabrications, conspiracy theories and outright lies are becoming commonplace from radical fringe groups as well as from people who you would hope would know better — and you know who they are,” he said as the New York audience cheered and laughed.

“Yet sections of our society have grown increasingly inured to such falsehoods, while the outrage and dissent against this alarming trend have been relatively muted, and when voiced are regularly castigated,” he said.

It comes days after Fauci spoke about when he plans on leaving the White House.

“I’m not going to get involved in any politics about who is or is not going in the White House,” Fauci said on Fox News. “By the way, by the time that happens, I think I won’t be around, no matter who the president is.”

Fox Business host Neil Cavuto then asked Fauci if he was done serving in his current capacity.

“No, I’m not done yet, but you’re talking about a few years from now. And I don’t foresee that I will be doing this a few years from now,” he said.

“So, no matter who is president, whether it’s Joe Biden getting reelected or someone else, Donald Trump or anyone else, you would not continue?” Cavuto asked, trying to pin Fauci down to a definitive answer.

“That’s exactly correct,” Fauci said. “I have been doing this now for 38 years. It will be over 40 years if I wait that long.”

But previously, Fauci was a hard “no” when asked by CNN’s Jim Acosta if he would remain in his post beyond 2024 if Trump won a second term.

“If you look at the history of what the response was during the administration, I think, you know, at best, you can say it wasn’t optimal. And I think just, history will speak for itself about that,” Fauci told CNN.

Trump clashed with Fauci numerous times during the first year of the pandemic about hydroxychloroquine, testing, reopening businesses, curtailing travel from China, and several other issues.

GOP threats of investigating Fauci may also be impacting his decision.

Last month, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said Republicans will “uncover” what Fauci knew about the origins of the coronavirus pandemic.

Jordan argued recently released emails prove there’s a “need to investigate Fauci.”

“If the American people put us back in charge, we are definitely going to do this,” Jordan said, adding that his colleagues would push for a congressional investigation into the origins of the coronavirus.

“Because we now know without a doubt that Dr. Fauci knew on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 that this thing came from a lab,” Jordan argued. “The top scientists in the country were saying it came from a lab. One scientist says we got the notes now from the conference call on February 1st. One scientist says, ‘I don’t see how this can happen in nature, but it would be easy to do in a lab.’”

“And yet just in a matter of days, they changed their position, write the article that appears in Nature of Medicine Magazine, which then gets cited in the now-famous letter The Lancet, which became the gospel for the fact that Fauci can go out and tell people it didn’t come from a lab when in fact they knew it did,” Jordan continued.

“The interesting thing is. We point this out. We just learned this last week, that the two doctors who were most adamant that this thing came from a lab early on: one is Dr. Kristian Anderson. On Jan. 31, 2020, he says this to Dr. Fauci in an email: ‘Virus looks engineered. The virus not consistent with evolutionary theory.’ So, he knew it came from a lab,” he added.

“They changed their position,” Jordan argued. “And a few months later, guess what? They get an $8.9 million, both him and Dr. [Robert] Garry – the guy who said it couldn’t happen naturally.”
