Lindsey Graham Sends The Order – Drops Deadline On Nancy Pelosi

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is not interested in playing games with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

The California representative has been holding on to the Articles of Impeachment to get some kind of leverage that does not exist.

She cannot be both the House Speaker and the Majority Leader in the Senate, which it appears she wants to be.

This is a woman who promised impeachment would not happen unless it was a bipartisan effort to charge the president.

But the only bipartisan part of the entire impeachment came when some Democrats voted against the impeachment.

Now Sen. Graham is done with her gamesmanship on something that should not be played around with.

He is telling the House Speaker that it is time to send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate or he will end it for her.

“This Constitutional outrage by @SpeakerPelosi needs to end. She is trying to run the Senate and deny President @realDonaldTrump his day in court after the House’s sham impeachment process,” he said.

“Stop playing games with the Constitution. In our system, you can’t be the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader at the same time. The Senate will decide how we dispose of this sham created by the House,” the senator said.

“If this continues into 2020, the Senate needs to strike back, standing up for our rights and ending this debacle,” he said.

The senator has a major point. Speaker Pelosi along with Reps. Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler and others said that they rushed impeachment because the president was an immediate danger to the nation and its security who had to be stopped.

That does not mesh with her desire to hold on to the Articles as she demands a “fair trial” in the Senate which The House did not give to the president.

They interrupted Republicans many times when they questioned witnesses, limited what witnesses the Republicans could call and not giving the GOP a day to talk to witnesses.

It is also important to note that Speaker Pelosi’s power is done when it comes to impeachment. The Constitution states that the House has the “sole authority” to impeach the President of The United States.

But it is the Senate that has the “sole authority” to give the president a trial, and they do not need Pelosi’s Articles in order to do it.

In fact, when they do get the Articles, and they will because not sending them would be political suicide, they do not even have to have a trial.

They could dismiss the case immediately, but that would not be the wisest move as it would be fodder for Democrat campaign ads.

They could have the trial and end it whenever they see fit. Or they could use the nuclear option, to postpone the trial until the 2020 election and have the voters decide it.

But no matter what they decide to do there is only one thing that is certain. They have the power now, not Pelosi and her with hunting team.
