Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Georgia Republican who has been a fiery critic of both the Biden administration and some members of her own party, said on Wednesday she was “SWATTED” during the early morning hours.

In a Wednesday morning tweet, Greene — a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump — thanked local police while adding that she would provide additional information at a later date, according to the UK’s Daily Mail.

“Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am. I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County. More details to come,” she tweeted.

“This is insane and unacceptable. The people behind this need to be prosecuted and serve jail time,” former NYPD officer and broadcaster John Cardillo tweeted in response.

“Elderly parents of a friend of mine were swatted as a prank. They were required to come outside with their hands up while in their pajamas. It was very stressful for them. This stuff isn’t funny. It’s serious and those who engage in this should go to jail,” said another Twitter user.

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Greene’s office confirmed that a “political attack” on her took place at her home.

“Right now, Congresswoman Greene’s safety is our number one concern. Late last night, she was a victim of a political attack on her family and home,” said Greene’s office in a statement. “Whoever who committed this violent crime will face the full extent of the law.”

DailyMail.com added:

Greene has led GOP criticism of federal law enforcement in recent weeks ever since the FBI’s unannounced search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

In the early hours of August 8, the FBI executed a search warrant on the Palm Beach mansion in an operation linked to classified documents sought by the National Archives.

Trump’s allies like Greene and GOP Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik decried the raid as a weaponization of the Justice Department and have demanded consequences for Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

It’s prompted criticism from other Republicans who cite federal warnings of an increased wave of violent threats against federal law enforcement workers in the FBI raid’s fallout.

The outlet went on to report that, as of this writing, it’s not clear if the incident was related to a federal law enforcement action or if it has anything to do with ongoing investigations into the former president.

As for the raid on Mar-a-Lago, that, too, was widely criticized by Republicans.

During an interview on network colleague Jesse Watters’ “Primetime” program, Fox News host Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, went ballistic on the Biden administration and the Justice Department, which he accused of becoming highly politicized in recent years, describing the raid earlier this month on Trump’s home as “third-world bullshit.”

“This is some third-world bullshit right here,” Bongino said. “Let me say it again, third-world bullshit. I mean every word of that. I don’t care that it’s cable news.

“I was a federal agent, I raised my right hand. And I swore to protect and defend the constitution of the United States. And I love this country. This is a freaking disgrace. A disgrace. We don’t live in Cuba. We don’t live under Kim Jong Un” of North Korea, he continued.

“We live in a constitutional republic. A representative democracy. You have a bunch of FBI agents raiding the home of a former president because they don’t like his politics? Are you kidding me?” he added.

“This is some third-world garbage that happened tonight,” he continued.
