Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a big ally of former President Donald Trump, has handily won reelection in her district, helping her party maintain its slim majority in the House, at least for the time being.
Greene defeated Democrat challenger Shawn Harris, a retired Army veteran and cattle farmer, in the state’s 14th congressional district. She won 65% of the vote to Harris’ 35%.
“I’m so excited that my race had been called, and I just want to thank all the wonderful people in Georgia’s 14th district for your support and hard work. I couldn’t do it without you,” Greene said in a video posted to social media.
“Tonight, I’m at Mar-a-Lago supporting President Trump, and as we move on through the evening, we are looking for victory. I am honored for your support, and I hope we bring Georgia home for President Trump and we can move forward to make America great again,” she added.
According to The Center Square, nearly $10 million was spent in the race, with the vast majority of that amount by Greene. Meanwhile, Harris brought in just under $2 million.
Greene had also implored Republican voters in her district and around the country to vote early.
“We’ve got to keep up the momentum to send President Trump back to the White House,” she posted on the X platform last month. “Don’t wait until November 5 to cast your ballot – lock it in now Georgia!”
In September, Greene made an ominous prediction on the X platform about Trump.
“We have entered the most dangerous phase of the election,” Greene wrote. “The momentum shift has happened and Trump is leading and his support is rapidly accelerating. I’m hearing it everywhere, even where I was not before. Democrats will do anything to stop him.”
She added: “They’ve already been trying to put him in prison and literally assassinate him. What comes next? More assassination attempts? Will they delay the election? Be prepared.”
Following two attempts on Trump since July 13, former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino posted a lengthy message on his Facebook page earlier this fall raising some questions about the federal protective agency, even suggesting the possibility of a “mole” within the Secret Service or the wider Department of Homeland Security.
“I have to ask you all a really troubling question now that I promised you 10 years ago I would have called myself nuts for asking this,” Bongino said before a long pause. “Is there a mole inside the DHS or Secret Service?”
Bongino highlighted several documented cases of foreign nationals or governments attempting to infiltrate and undermine federal agencies. He cited a notable example where two individuals were convicted of impersonating federal agents in an elaborate scheme that deceived the Secret Service.
“Folks, what happened yesterday in Secret Service jargon, the movement to the golf, the golf course, Donald Trump going to play golf at the golf course is what we call an OTR. Stands for an off-the-record movement, meaning it’s not on the official schedule, meaning very few people have access to it,” Bongino explained.
“What makes me even more curious about what happened yesterday is apparently the decision to golf was made at the last minute. Meaning, there were probably – when the decision was made, less than 10 people who knew about it. How’d this guy know to set up there?”
“How did he know how to set up, and where to set up, and that Trump was going to be there? Folks, the mole may not be a foreign national himself. I don’t want you to think Jason Bourne stuff. Don’t overcomplicate what doesn’t need to be overcomplicated,” he continued.
“Is there a honeypot trap going on in the Secret Service? Is there a guy or a woman in the Secret Service having a relationship with someone who is not who they say they are? The Iranians have been running these traps in Israel and elsewhere. The Iranians who want to kill President Trump. Folks, how do we know that there’s not some kind of honeypot trap and that some agent or some DHS personnel, someone who has to be notified, is not in a relationship with someone?”
